- How about a patterned curtain with all 3 or even 2 of those colors? You could check at local stores for this, or even try a fabric store and have them made (or make them yourself if you are handy). But here's something to think about..What if you take the existing brown curtains pull them back and either have a cream colored sheer curtain or even cream colored vinyl mini-blinds? That way you are using up what you already have. The brown makes the room seem dark,but it will act as a great accent when pulled back. You could get something red for your tiebacks...ribbon, beads, whatever will look fun and different. Personally it sounds darling, have fun with it!!
- Q: My apartment is really poorly insulated. The best way to fix that would be to get foam/injected insulation done but right now I can not afford it. I was thinking that there must be a place where you can get insulated curtains to hang on walls that are exposed to the exterior. Like those large commercial type curtains in office building that you would hang along an entire wall or foam board that you would stick to that wall.It wont be as efficient but it will keep me from paying a small fortune for heating while I save up for the insulation work.Thanks!
- We had that problem in my mom's 80 year old house on the side walls which were plaster without insulation. We bought 4' x 8' rigid foam insulation sheets (1 1/2 inch, I think) and wrapped them with burlap (you could use any fabric -- king-sized sheets from a discount store would be a cheap source of a lot of yardage). Then we stapled vinyl sheeting to the wall for a vapor barrier and fastened the panels to the wall with drywall screws through to the studs. It made a huge difference in keeping the rooms warm and the wrapped foam made a giant bulletin board that we could hang things on.
- Q: Like I said, my walls are a gold color (lions mane), red scarlet leather sofa and love seat, and medium brown colored coffee table and end tables. I hear that white curtains would make the walls look somewhat washed out, and red curtains will overpower the yellow walls due to their being too much red in the room. Any suggestions?
- brown curtains might look nice and they'd also be room darkening! i'd also consider looking for patterned ones that incorporate two or more of the room colors! you should NOT do gold ones. maybe you wanna do red curtains and a brown valance? what color is the floor? maybe match that? cream or butter could be options also-hard to say since i am having trouble visualizing teh wall color exactly..... hope i was helpful!
