- since blue and red are very dominant colors, i would stick with a white sheer curtain and white sheets. if white sheets is too boring, get something white with a blue or red accent that matches the walls. Do NOT do black, because black and brown definitely do not match, and black curtains will not let any sunlight in making your room seem very dark and small.

- My bedroom is purple, chocolate and cream - they all go well together. I have a big painting of a tuscan lavendar fields over the bed. My curtains are a kind of see through sort of material in a lovely chocolate brown with cream flecks. If you want it lighter go with the above answerers idea of translucent white or cream - really crisp and fresh - do like the French Country style - with miniature roses but do it all in white and the purple and minty green - buy a magazine on French style Country living to get the ideas - add a pretty chandelier - so pretty.
- Q: I just moved into our first house. I mostly work graveyards so I usually sleep during the day. We put up some curtains that blocks out the outside light which mostly helps keep the room dark. However, along the side edges of the curtains, they dont sit flat with the wall so light comes through those edges. Is there something I could use to help stick the curtain edges to the wall without ruining the curtains or the paint on the wall? Right now Im using painters tape, but it looks tacky and would like to find something that isnt so obvious.
- I suggest putting blinds up under your curtains (in the window frame). This will block out more light, but still allow your curtains to hang the way they are supposed to fall.
- Q: I need to hang a curtain rod in my kitchen to be able to hang curtains so that my neighbors will not be able to see inside. If i screw the rod into the wall, will it hols up? there is also wood trim around the window and i tried to drill the screws in it but my drill could not penetrate it. Will it be ok to use the wall?Im asking because i know nothing about this sort of thing.I just dont want the rod to fall out of the wall and leave holes in it.Please advise.
- ok you should be able to as most windows have a header youll have to check for sure take hammer lightly tap above window if you hear a hollow sound you'll need to use a plastic ancore if you hear a soild sound go a head drill your holes you should only drill a pilet hole then switch bit and screw the rest in tight (pilet) use a bit smaller than you screw) only enough to start your screw straight one other thing if your only on sheetrock they sell plastic ancors or maybe they came with the rods drill holes just enough to fit upto half the length of the ancor then tap it in lightly
- Q: Hi everyone,I need to find curtain rods for one of my walls. Basically, the entire wall is a window (sliding glass doors). So this means that I cannot mount curtain rods using the traditional hardware because there is no drywall, just window basically. Does anyone know what type of curtain rod I wouuld need? - If the window has a frame around it, you will need to install the brackets on the frame itself but it probably won't look as finished. If the window is that close to the ceiling, you might want to just dress up the windows with decorative shades. Some really neat stuff is in the stores right now.

- How about a patterned curtain with all 3 or even 2 of those colors? You could check at local stores for this, or even try a fabric store and have them made (or make them yourself if you are handy). But here's something to think about..What if you take the existing brown curtains pull them back and either have a cream colored sheer curtain or even cream colored vinyl mini-blinds? That way you are using up what you already have. The brown makes the room seem dark,but it will act as a great accent when pulled back. You could get something red for your tiebacks...ribbon, beads, whatever will look fun and different. Personally it sounds darling, have fun with it!!

- Sounds like you are creating a fun atmosphere with your room. First take a look at your furniture and the natural lighting your room receives. You don't want your furniture to look out of place and you don't want to go too dark if there isn't that much light. If you want to play it safe, you can go white, but I think you might like a light blue (maybe a pastel) or sorts. Visit your paint shop and look at variations of green and blue. More than likely you will find something in the middle that tie the room together nicely. It is also really fashionable now a days to paint an accent wall a different color. Perhaps you could go with a light pastel like blue color and then accent a light green wall. Your local paint or hardware store will carry color charts. Take a picture of your room and take it with you when paint shopping. If you physically look at the paint be sure to find out what it looks like when it dries.
