- Q: Any instructions on how to make rings, necklaces, and bracelets out of colored telephone wire.
- This Site Might Help You. RE: Instructions on using telephone wire to make jewelry? Any instructions on how to make rings, necklaces, and bracelets out of colored telephone wire.
- Q: I just installed a backup camera however I am having trouble wiring it. I've read that I need to tap into the reverse wire, however I went through many wires and couldn't figure out which one is it. My cameras wire is designed to be wired in the trunk, so the wire under the hood or dash is not a possibility. 2003 G35 Sedan
- For the objective of? turning it on? NO! you should use that wire, faucet it for sure, with a speedy connect, for a 12V source wire, use a relay, and that 12V source wire, and that is advisable to do 2 body grounds, one for that 12V source wire for the relay to kick on/off, and one from the digital camera that you're powering from a right away link from the battery (use a 10A inline fuse)
- Q: I am installing a GFCI outlet in the kitchen (20 AMP) the box that it is already installed in has more than nine wires running into it. What I need to know is how does one determine the load wires from line wires when there are multiple wires running to an outlet box?
- Nine wires or nine cables? Nine wires is possible if there was a three-way switch in that box previously, or multiple outlets. Need to know what was in the box before. Pictures would also help.
- Q: circuit breakers,equipment,wire,or people
- Fuses, standard circuit breakers and the like, unless -extremely- carefully designed are made to protect real-estate, no more. Not even a GFIC device is 100% effective nor are any of them designed to protect against stupidity. If one deliberately inserts one's self into a circuit, one will be injured. There are certain types of fuses (and breakers) that are designed to protect equipment - an example of such is the dual-element fuse that can sustain a high surge on start-up, but will fail at 'design' amps after that surge. There are breakers that are similarly designed. No fuse can be a ground-fault device. But, the bottom line is that fuses are load-based and are designed to fail based on a function (also designed) of excess-load-over-time. A very small excess load will be tolerated for a much longer time than a dead-short (infinite load), as extreme examples. And fuses are more-or-less sized to the wire feeding from them and its theoretical capacity. So it may be argued in a full discussion that fuses are to protect real-estate first, wire second, and in a few deliberately and carefully matched cases the equipment attached to the wire. As fuses are 100% load based, they cannot protect people unless their maximum design load is less than 1/4 watt at 10,000 ohms (what a human being equates to as a resistor).
- Q: Will a subwoofer amplifier wiring kit be for the sub and the amplifier???? Because I'm searching online and I can find amplifier wiring kits, but not a subwoofer wiring kit. Only a subwoofer amplifier kit???
- In terms of amp wiring subs are no different than speakers. Just make sure you know the rms power of the amp and related current requirements so you choose the correct wire size. Also understand that the unusually inexpensive kits are not usually very honest about the actual size of the wire. 8 awg will cover you up to about 600w rms. An 8 awg kit should have a 50-60A fuse. 4 awg will cover up to 1000-1200w rms and should include at LEAST an 80A fuse, preferably 100-150A.
- Q: i need an egr wiring Diagram for a 2000 Chevy Malibu. the wires got pulled out of the weather tight connector. if anyone can help i'd appreciate
- Connector view for the GM linear EGR valve are as follows: Pin# A=gray/w black wire,Pin# B=solid black wire,Pin# C=brown/w white wire,Pin# D=brown/w white wire(see note) and Pin# E=solid red wire! NOTE since pin C+D have the same color wire the correct wire must be identified by checking the voltage with the KOEO (key on engine off) the right brown/w white wire should have a 5volt reference voltage with the key on engine off! Hope this helps.
- Q: how to wire a receptacle with 6 wires?
- Loosen the wire clamp screws located on the sides of the receptacle there are 2 kinds of clamp screws on a receptacle one set is silver and the other is brass colored.....Put the 2 Neutral (white) wires on the side where the Silver screw clamps are and tighten each one down....put the 2 Positive (black) wires on the side where the brass screw clamps are at and tighten each one down...That leaves you with 2 wires left.......You will need an extra 4 inch long piece of ground wire so use your spool and cut a 4 inch piece of green wire or bare copper wire, this is called a pig tail....you will need a green wire cap...take the 2 ground wires and the 4 inch pig tail and hold the ends together evenly and then screw on the green wire cap nice and tight....this leaves you with a single pig tail wire coming out the green wire cap, this wire is then connected to the small ground screw on the receptacle....then gently fold wires and place everything into the outlet box nice and neat....
- Q: The new light has 1 live, 1 neutral 1 earth wire, do i remove the earth connect the reds if so what about the 2 blacks?
- No! Wire the new light exactly like the light that you removed. If you don't remember what wire went where on the old light then you made a mistake by removing the old one without marking the wires or at least taking a cell phone picture or something. It sounds like there is probably more than one light fixture being controlled by that switch. It's hard to tell by your description. Electrons don't flow by wire color. There is no way to really tell what is going on by naming colors. Come back on here when you have a better description of what is going on. How many lights come on when you flip that switch? Is there more than one switch that controls that fixture? Which wires were hooked to the old light? Are any of the wires still wire nutted together? Don't be experimenting by hooking that earth ground wire to any other wire. Leave it hooked to the ground lug on the box. It has nothing to do with the light operating. It's for safety.
- Q: I have an old sewing machine without a plug that needs wiring up but it doesn't have the modern wire colours. There's one red wire and one yellow. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks =]
- It would be better for you to post a picture of your wires and where they are going to on the machine so that we can tell you what is what. Otherwise it would be difficult to say just by telling us one is red and one is yellow. No offense intended, there's just not enough information with just knowing the wire colors. ------------------------ WARNING! Red is NEVER used to indicate a earth connection as XOXO suggests! Damage to your machine or harm to you could result if you attempted to connect red to earth. ------------------------ OK, I see your picture (thanks): Yellow is most likely the common wire. It connects to your white wire. The red wire connects to the Hot (black) wire. If you have a switch in the system, the red wire would connect to your switch or foot (gas peddle). And of course the other side of your switch would be connected to your black wire of the power cord.
- Q: wic iring codes for turner plus three wired to uniden washington cb radio
- Typically there are 3 wires. The shild is ground. Of the remaining two wires, one is push-to-talk and the other is the audio lead. Find the push-to-talk (switch) lead by checking continuity from the shield to each of the other two wires. On one of the remaining two, there will be continuity when the mic is keyed. That is the switch lead, and the other one is audio.
