Q: I'm remodeling a house on a tight budget. All the carpet needs replaced and I was wondering if anyone has bought carpet from Ollie's Bargain Outlet? If you have, is it a good choice and will it last a long time? I was also looking at Lowes carpeting. A good friend of mine told me that Lowes carpeting isn't very good in the long run. Has anyone had any problems with it? (I'm installing the carpet on my own if that makes a difference): Hogd NEVER start learning a trick on grass or carpet. By doing this makes learning a trick even more extremely difficult because: 1. If you get too used to the carpet, you will be too afraid to try it on pavement. (which happened to you, and sorry, skate parks aren't made of carpet.) 2. you won't get the entire feel of the trick by doing it on carpet. It is good sometimes to to a trick on carpet when your first learning the trick, but only stay on the carpet a couple minutes, don't get too used to the carpet, only practice the trick on the carpet once or twice, then go straight to pavement. P.S Don't ever give up, try the trick on pavement, and if your still afraid, try putting safety equipment on when trying to ollie, so you feel more secure. Ryan.

Any eastimat for how long I expect this project should take!?any eastmat for how much it will cost to replace 1000 ft place including removing old carpet!: Go to the nearest Home depot - they'll sell you carpeting and installation - which includes removing and replacing the old carpet and padding - for a set fee - usually about 150.00 and you choose your own new carpeting various grades and prices starting at 11.75 per square yard up to 33.00 per yard (1000 sq feet equals - 27.7 sq. yards) and put a 10% down payment on the total job. Remember that anything that you install like permanent carpeting must stay when you vacate the apartment. Unless you plan to stay for a really long time (maybe 15 years - the average life of a carpet) this may not be a great idea! These jobs take usually just one day!

Q: I dropped some candle wax on the carpet... How do I get it out?: Use an iron and a lot of cleans cotton or linen rags (nothing pilly or plushy, like towels). Pour a bit of boiling hot water on the spot and pick and scrub at it to get out what you can, and scrape at it with a butter knife is it's really on there thick. Then, use the iron for a FEW SECONDS over another clean rag to help suck up the crumbs and bits that you dislodged by picking and scraping. Repeat as necessary. And be rough about it! A few lost fibers of carpet aren't going to mar the look of the carpet as much as the stain will. Carpets are built tough. They can take the scraping and scrubbing and picking. Now, if the candles are heavily colored like red or black, that's another story. Follow up the removal of the wax with a steam cleaning of the carpet, with a heavy dose of Resolve carpet cleaner (and some Clorox Clean-up spray with Bleach if the carpet is light enough, but only DIRECTLY on the discoloration.)

Q: what is everyones opinion on carpet vs carpet tiles. price ability to keep clean etc. thanks: In my son's pediatrician's office there was wall to wall carpet. It was often stained. Finally they removed the rug and used the carpet tiles. I commented to the receptionist on how nice the waiting room looked and she said these carpet tiles are a godsend because when one get stained, they simply lift it up and replace that one square. So, for an office/waiting room with lots of kids coming and going, it really does work. But, these were commercial grade.

When our cat first started doing that on our carpet, I checked the litter box. Yes, it was dirty indeed. Cats can smell 10X better than we can. Imagine you going to a truck stop restroom to go to the bathroom that has not been cleaned in two or three days...eeewwww... I clean the litter box everyday and wash it once a week. You need to go to a carpet store and look at samples to get a price. There is a huge store near the square on 41. EDIT - Since you need a small carpet, ask to see their remnant room. You might find just what you need at a fraction of the cost.
