Q: I spilled Coca-cola on my area rug. The rug is relatively inexpensive and I've never spilled liquid on it. I decided it would be a brilliant idea to sop up as much liquid as I could with a towel and paper towels and then pour baking soda all over it, which I then proceeded to rub in. (I know, idiotic). The stain is now hard and crusty and I cant seem to vacuum it out. Any advice?
Not all is lost. Break up the crusties as much as possible and vacuum, probably just use the hose, not the various heads. Keep doing this until you'd removed as much as possible. If you have a clothes brush, use that to help as you vacuum. When you've done as much as you can, time to switch methods: first put a towel, shower curtain or whatever under your throw rug as you don't want to ruin the floor under neath.......if vinyl.......relax. Anyway. Make a solution of OxyClean.....I'd say a scoop to a quart of warm water.....mix well and then apply it to the stain.........if your carpet doesn't have latex on the back and you can move it to the tub.....pour the Oxyclean over the stain. Otherwise pour a bit on.......1/4 cup or so, rub with your fingers and immediately begin blotting it out with a clean towel......white or light colored just in case you get a color run from the towel. Repeat applying and blotting it up. That should do it. I doubt you'll need the whole quart. OH yes, finish with a clear water rinse and plenty of blotting. Check the towel or whatever underneath and replace it if wet. Let the rug air dry. No hair dryers as heat will set stains. Of course we hope like anything the OxyClean doesn't remove the color from your rug.....if you have bright colors.....use a weaker solution. OxyClean ihydrogenen peroxide which will bleach colors if in a very concentrated formula which it in the in the original mixture I mentioned.
Q: I'm wanting to redo the interior of my car black but they didn't make any stock with black so I can't just buy a carpet mold. Does anyone know where I could get one made? Or even if there's a way I could make one...
Yes, you can make car carpeting. Just go to any carpet store and buy any carpet you want. You could even carpet your car with shag, if that's what you like (although it will be a lot harder to keep clean than indoor-outdoor carpeting). Use your existing carpet as a template. When you remove the carpet, try to keep it as whole as possible and then just lay it on top of the new carpet for a template. You might have to use books or some other weight to flatten the template, because it's bound to be bumpy after being formed to your car for so long. Then just tape the new carpet in place using carpet tape -- or use glue that's made to adhere to metal. Your car can have any kind of carpet you like. Personally, I would stick with carpets that are easy to keep clean (short-fibered carpets made of nylon), but honestly this is your choice.
Q: I like the red carpet the best
I think you mean DOES the carpet match the drapes? And no, I don't have carpet....only hardwood floors. And, actually, come to think of it, I don't have drapes either.....^.^
Q: Living room sofa is 3.3m long, tea table is 1.2*0.6. then what size of carpet is more appropriate?
2*3 or so, it can be bigger
Q: How to fix the red carpet on the stairs
Use the special adhesive and tool for the carpet (generally polyester): Need a flat shovel and graver. According to the width of the staircase, to use a graver to cut the stair carpet slightly 1-2 cm wider than the stairs, sizing treatment on the stairs, and then use the flat shovel to fix, especially in the corner of the stairs, it is best to fold over, so you can ensure the carpet stick more firmly. Finally, cutting off the extra carpet,
Q: I have a very large area rug. It has lots of browns blacks. I want to lighten it sum how dye a medium-dark blue. But I may have to dye black. I like the rug it just doesn't go with my sons room decor. Please Help. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!
I took mine outside and washed it on an area where I have gravel. A deck would be good also. Try using some bleach and water to lighten it. Rince very well. I put liquid rit dye in a garden sprayer with Hot water and 1/2 cup salt and sprayed the carpet. I waited a couple of hours and mixed up another batch and sprayed it again. After it was somewhat dry I layed it over the fence to dry.
Q: 4 years ago I shortly dated someone in the military who purchased a persian rug for me in afghanistan. I felt guilty keeping it, but he insisted I kept it anyways, and am now wanting to sell it, however I know nothing about it. Are there any websites that can teach me anything about the rug, like to verify it really is a persian rug or values?
You can read full story at WikiPedia about Persian rugs and its type.
Q: what's the characteristic of a good quality area rug?should I buy machine made or hand made?

Q: I have to clean a carpet that has a red cool aid stain on it? Since it is not my carpet, I have no idea how long the stain has set into the carpet. I am willing to try just about anything short of a beach based cleaner? The carpet is an off white, so it's extremely noticable. Any suggestions, or is this a hopeless case?
Jell-o and other Gelatin Stain Removal from Carpet The dyes in Kool-Aid, Gatorade and Jell-o generally result in a permanent stain. However, you can still try to remove carpet stains caused by these products. The newest technology uses peroxide and detergents to penetrate the soiled area to remove the stain and deactivate the odor. Simply spray a product such as Bio-OX Citrus Concentrate on the soiled area, and then allow it to penetrate for approximately five minutes. Using a clean white absorbent cloth, blot the area, pressing down firmly (do not rub) for 30 seconds. Repeat this blotting process until the area is dry. If the odor persists, repeat the process. Another option for cleaning carpet stains such as these is to use ordinary household ammonia and blot at the stain using a clean cloth. When cleaning carpet stains with ammonia, wear a mask or turn you head so you don't inhale the fumes. Good Luck! :)
Q: my dog had one to many accidents on my carpet what is the best carpet cleaner to use.
Get a good quality carpet shampoo with enzymes. (can be found at just about all the big box pet supply stores like Pet Co.) Course your question could also be asking about machines? You can rent one from many places. Personally I own my own. It's a hoover and does a great job. Of course you would also want to pre-treat the stains/spots where pup had the accidents. I just got a puppy in August. Have been housebreaking her, as I want her to be part of the family, ya know? AND... the first thing I did was get some pet enzyme shampoo and treat every spot as it was found. Immediate cleaning is a must, otherwise those odors can permeat into the carpet pad and subflooring under and you'll NEVER be rid of them!
