Q: I need to patch a section of my carpet. The size I need to patch is 2 feet by 1 1/2 feet. I will be patching just a few inches from the wall/front door. Here's my questions:1. Will the patch job be noticeable at all or will it blend in to the other carpet? 2. Will the replaced carpet piece be loose or need stretched? 3. What if the carpet I am patching doesn't exactly match because my current carpet is used and the patch will be brand new? I've never done this before so any advice for a first timer would be awesome! Thanks!: i saw this on TLC once. go into a closet you never use, or thats cluttered with junk. cut out that section however big you need it. make sure the piece of carpet you cut out of the closet fits perfect where the patch needs to go. now. at a carpet store for a couple bucks you can get this carpet tape (i dont remember the exact name, tell them what you are doing, they will help you) and you just put the tape half under the old carpet on all sides, and place the patch on top. and ta-da. you could hardly tell when i did it. hope it helps!

Q: Saw a picture of the Mega Doily Rug... Awesome. Made with cotton rope and a size S crochet hook or your hands. Is it true that you can really take any doily pattern and just use this huge cotton rope to make a rug? Would you have to alter the pattern at all?Thanks for any help! Wanna make one for my grandma.: It's true, and they used to make them with rages, so they were called rag rugs. I made a litle door mat sized one once using strips of rags. Just experiment, you can always pull the thing out and try again.

Q: so i accidentally got some nailpolish on my carpet any ideas for how to get it out?: depends on the color of the carpet. don't use remover if the rug is colored. you might just have to deal with it.

Q: Why would it be hard after cleaning the carpet: Do not rinse the detergent? you don't find a professional carpet cleaning company to clean it, do you?

Q: l have a white shag rug in my room and it gets dirty easily and i cant really put it in the washer so i was wondering what the easiest way to clean it would be: shampoo the rug with a steam cleaner and purchase another rug to set on top of it this will prevent a heavy traffic area from getting dirty, from time to time remove it and wash it or shampoo it replace it when fully dried.
