4. What's the characteristics about porcelain tiles and glazed tiles?
Glazed tiles are colorful, the effect is rather diverse, stain-slip, abrasion resistance but worse than the porcelain tiles. Long-term use may wear a large surface; porcelain tiles have the higher degree, long hard wear surface. Good performance and stable cleanup (before playing the best times to use the wax to improve stain resistance). The porcelain tiles are weaker performance in non-slip than glazed tiles. We should take attention on its anti-slip properties, face down in a tiled brick water testing..
- Q: I dont know if the cabinets are to large width wise... so I might need to trim the tile?
- Cutting the tiles that are already set is difficult to do and messy. Making a clean strait cut that will butt up to the cabinets is tough to do. If you slip and score the tops of the tiles you won't be able to fix them. You might want to try and build up the floor behind the cabinets to the height of the tiles and put the cabinets on top. That will probably be the easiest way. Any color tile will work since they will be behind the cabinets and unnoticed. I would go to Lowe's or Home Depot and buy a box of returned tiles (much cheaper that way) and a pail of Thinset. You can apply the thinset to each tile individually and use a 4' level to make sure the height is good.
- Q: I am wondering which tile will be easier to clean, polished or non polished? My hub and I are remodeling the bathroom and we are in the stage of deciding of tiles for the shower wall and bathroom floor.
- definetley polished. smoother things are always easier to clean, because dust and dirt slides off them easier.
- Q: Is there a simple way to lay ceramic tile. It is for a small bathroom. Never laid it before but There is a first time for everything. Should I use small tile or large.About 50 sq feet
- Before you begin, make sure you have a smooth and rigid sub-floor to support the installation. Ceramic tiles crack easily if installed on an uneven or thin surface. Next, assemble your tools and materials. You will simply need tile adhesive, a tile cutter, and, of course, tiles. Also have a rubber mallet, chalk line, a long board, and level on hand. Plan the layout of your tiles by placing them without adhesive. Using a chalk line, snap a line perpendicular to the door. Lay tiles along this line, using a spacer (such as the side of another tile) between each tile. Start laying out tile from the door-you want a full row of tiles visible upon entry into the room. When you reach the other end of the room, install a long 1 thick piece of wood along the wall, perpendicular to your first row. This temporary installation will help you line tiles across the room.
- Q: How to buy tiles? What kind of good?
- 4. kitchen bricks and balcony tiles (posts in the kitchen behind the tile) with a little cheaper on it, or you can let the business gift. 5. Glazed tiles (wall tiles) need to be immersed 2-3 hours before paving. 6. Tiles can not be returned after flooding, so how many tiles to soak how many tiles, so as not to waste. More graphic experience, see ToGo experience How to choose tiles (tiles articles) on the tiles of good and bad identification problems, there are a lot of introduction, but some things have a lot of omissions. Today to tell you about how to use some simple method to introduce the legend to tell how to identify the quality of tiles, hoping to have some help! Tiles are mainly polished tiles, mainly through the "look, weigh, knock, fight, try" a few simple ways to choose!
- Q: How is the wax on the new tiles clean?
- With water poured in a wax on the tile, the wax after melting by the heat floating in the water, until the water temperature drops, with a rag of a touch of water and wax with the erase. You try it, listen to others say. There is a dry wipes often paint, paint more than no, but it is very environmentally friendly, or you use a rag with a little detergent and other things will have the effect of this is a kung fu live, do not impatient! It is too troublesome to find a clean look over the whole!
- Q: I am ready to tile a kitchen island, it has the rough shape of HOME PLATE, though not pointy. What is the best way to cover those odds angles effectively? Should I butt two edge tiles together? Also, I am not fond of the 16th inch spacing in tiles, I prefer 1/4 in gaps...any issues for the top of counter. The sides will be 1/8th gap.AdamDeridder,La
- My hubby tried to tile ours...BIG mistake!! LOL Go to Home Depot and get help. LOL
- Q: 1 package tiles can paste the number of square brick
- The amount of tiles used, there are two main factors: First, the roughness of the base surface, the second is the use of smear tools. The more flat surface, the use of the less. Toothed scraper is the best tool for the construction of ceramic tile, the smaller the mouth, the smaller the amount. In the relatively flat base, De Gao's technical engineers measured, 6mm wide and 6mm deep tooth-shaped scraper dosage of about 3.5kg / ㎡, 10mm wide and 10mm deep tooth-shaped scraper dosage of about 5kg / ㎡, 12mm wide 12mm deep tooth scraper dosage is about 7kg / ㎡. To Tak Tak tiles common 20Kg package count, you can paste 3 to 7 square meters. Should pay attention to the big mouth is to paste a large tile, heavy brick, ordinary home decoration, with a small mouth of the scraper on it.
- Q: I need to repair my shower, about 6 tiles fell off. I‘m currently drying the drywall with a fan. Whats the best way to glue tile back on the wall?
- First of all I would look at the wall behind where the tile has came off. If your house is old or installation was poor they may not have the proper material behind the tile, as in the wall. If it is sheetrock, no wonder! You need either greenboard or dur-rock behind it that is the code. Anyways, once you find this out see if it's only sheetrock behind it, it won't do you any good to stick em back up. Which if the material behind is fine than just get some match stick at home depot that's cheap but creates a nasty mess. Or grab a small bag of thinset which you mix with water or some will require an extra additive which will be where ever you go for the thin set. You can get this stuff at Home Depot or Lowes while your there I 'd grab a trowel with 3/8 knotch spacers and your grout. Hopefully all of the peices were full peices. If not your gonna have to borrow a hand held maquita or cutter or saw. Make sure your rows with trowel are even with through out your spread. If you are using thinset, you have to apply thinset to wall and tile. Obviously you stick the tile first grab some sort of extra scrap to spread them appropriately. Wait a day for the thinset to set up and the next day pull out your wedges or spacers and grout. Good luck. Chic
- Q: and if so, can I just put the tile on top of the sanded laminate counter top?
- You can, but it is not recommended. Your tile cuts would need to be almost perfect in order to not look bad. Then you need to silicone caulk around the sink to prevent water damage to the original counter top.
- Q: A floor tiling company wants to tile a hallway that is n feet long and 3 feet wide; unfortunately, they only have tiles that are 1 foot by 3 feet in length.(a) Find a recurrance for F(n), the number of ways the floor tilers can completely tile an n by 3 hallway. Provide base cases as needed for your recurrance, but do not solve the recurrance.(b) Use this recurrance to demonstrate that F(n) lt;= (3/2)^n for all n gt;= 1.
- let the first slot be filled with a tile covering the whole breadth. then the remaining slots can be filled in f(n-1) ways. again if the first slot be covered in 1ft /3ft way then the remaining slots may be filled in f(n-3) ways. so in my opinion f(n)=f(n-1)+f(n-3)
