Q: What is the best quality area rug material. like are vinyl or wool rugs the best
I have always had hard wood floors, so I use area rugs and rug runners under foot. I have found that the best rugs are wool rugs. My all time favorite rugs are hand hooked rugs. They are very durable.
Q: I keep pads under my Oriental rugs. I bought rubber backed pads for all of them but I noticed that it's disintegrating - turning into a fine powder. Has anyone had any experience with better pads and can recommend something better?Thank you.
Pads are must for rugs whether its an oriental rug or some other rug. It increase the life of rug.
Q: Ok, i'm 14 and was quot;experimentingquot; with fire in my bedroom, i set a piece of paper alight, and was holding it, when it got to the point where i couldn't hold it any longer, i dropped it and stomped it out, then immediately noticed that the paper had kinda quot;fusedquot; with the carpet to create one big mess on the floor, and not need it gone urgently before my parents see! The carpet itself isn't really burnt i guess...
carpet it like plastic fibers so it melts. throw a rug over it.
Q: I usually take more care when i use pastels but i really felt like doing something creative in the spur of the moment so i got out my soft pastels and art supplys and when i was done i noticed some pastel got on the carpet does anyone anyone know how i can get rid of it?BTW my mum only just put a new carpet which was pretty expensive in so i need to get rid off it without her knowing preferabbly or shel be really mad :SPLEASE HELP!!
Hoover with soft brush attachment just hover(hover not hoover) above the stain as close as possible so that you don't press it in to the carpet.DO NOT put anything wet on it or press it in any way.If still there use the brush attachment lightly on it while hoovering.
Q: has any one had them out to clean your carpet and if so is it worth the money? give me some stories good or bad about them
Used them many times and they are very reasonably priced. If you aren't moving your furniture (which we didn't) make sure they put everything up on blocks so as not to stain the carpets until they dry. It's a normal procedure for them but they can mess up and your wood or fabric that touches the wet carpet will stain it. When they are done your carpets should only be damp and not wet to the touch. If they are wet don't let them leave until the carpets are only damp. Stanley Steemer is a franchise operation so not all franchises are great. I use them for a whole house cleaning but use my own steam cleaner much more often. I have saved a lot of money by owning my own steam cleaning machine which is a Bissell. I can keep up on carpet cleaning routinely as opposed to waiting until the carpets are in dire need. I would recommend after you use Stanley to buy your own cleaner.
Q: Crawling in an one my carpet how to get rid?
An ant bait placed where they are coming in will give the ants something to take to their nest and in time the ants will be gone. An ant bait for sugar loving ants is needed for them and a protein bait is needed for ants that do not like sugar.
Q: We are going to have our 3 year old carpet stretched. We also need to have it professionally shampooed. Which service should we have done first?
Have it shampooed first. The moisture will sometimes (rarely) make the carpeting or padding shrink or expand. Wait at least a week after cleaning to schedule a carpet stretcher.
Q: Okay, so I'm being cheap! However, I saw these really cute pink shag area rugs on sale at Target this week. I need it to be larger than the 5 x 8, so I was thinking of somehow binding the two so I would have a 10 x 16. Does anyone know if this is possible? I don't want to use anything too gooey to join them because the rug will be going over hardwood floors. Let's hear some creative practical solutions that will work please!
You could probably sew them together with rug yarn that you can get in a craft store. Depending on what the backing of the rugs are made of, this might be difficult OR, they have iron on tape that is made just for rugs. I've never seen it in the stores but I've never really looked for it either. I did see them use it on a show on HGTV. You lay the rugs face down with the joining edges against each other on the floor, place the tape evenly along the edges you want to connect, and press with a hot iron. When the joined rugs cool, turn the piece over and comb back and forth with your fingers to hide any of the new seam that night be showing.
Q: I need to know a safe and easy way to get some stains (juice) from my carpeting
If it's a fresh spill, mop up as much as you can with an old towel, then sponge with cold water and mop again, repeating as often as needed. Standing on the towel helps to mop up the juice and/or water. if it's an old stain then use a very small amount of Fairy liquid (hand dish-washing liquid) in a bowl of warm water, sponge liberally onto the stain, work in with a nail brush, working from the outside of the stain inwards to prevent spreading it. Mop up with a towel, sponge with clean water and mop again. Sponge with clean water mop at least twice more then leave to dry. NB 1.you should test that your carpet is colour-fast on a hidden area first. 2 you may be left with a clean patch on your carpet where you've cleaned it.
Q: Ok So Im Gonna Be Shampooing MY Carpets Tomorrow And I Dont Have any Carpet Cleaner Is THere Any Thing Else I Can use??
mmm get something at target. don't dare using any carpet cleaner company it's BS
