Q: Hi i would like to ask what is the diference between the two versions of wiring the RJ 45 connector. when I was making my first networking cable, i used the wiring according to an image that only was using/connecting four wires into the connector. the cable works and works well. Now i found plenty of other images, all of them reccomending the full /eight wires/ connecting. Do I run my network on lower Mbits/sec? what are the other four wires used for? Thanks: You should terminaqte all 8 wires even when running at 100M 10M speeds are ok using just the 4, but at 100M, while the unused pairs do not carry a signal, they do help with attenuation.

Q: instead of using the wire its self could you put a terminal at the end of your audio wire and connect it to the amp, for your car audio. Because I just ordered 1/0 awg wire, but I don't think the wire will fit on the amp, so could I put a Y terminal at the end of my 1/0 gauge wire and connect that to my amp?: Depends okorder ... Another option would be a distribution block that allows a 0-gauge input and 4-gauge outputs. You could use this to reduce the wire size before the amplifier connection.

Is there some way to scan a wall to locate the wires?Thanks.: The best way to trace where the wires in your wall are would be to use a toner. It consists of 2 pieces... a tone generator, and a small hand held amplifier. YOU NEED TO TURN THE CIRCUIT OFF BEFORE DOING THIS. That being said, you would shut off the breaker or remove fuse for that circuit, open the wall outlet box, pull out receptacle and attach leads from tone generator (they have alligator clips on them) to the white and black. Then you simply turn on the hand held amplifier and place it on the wall starting from the outlet and just keep going in the direction that provides the loudest sound.

Q: I own a 1990 Toyota 4runner 6cyl, 3L. it had a few performance issues when i bought it. ( just didnt seem to have any power idling at around 200), so before spending money on expensive items, i figured spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. So i just changed the spark plug wires today, and immediatly the truck was runnin much better idling at 800-1000 , about 5 minutes into driving, the problem started again, i parked the truck, it was idling at 200-300 again, opened the hood saw a bit of smoke coming from one of the wires, so im hoping and assuming it was just smoking because the wire was touching a hot surface, i can hear a bit of a clicking noise that i dont remember hearing before, almost like a spark. what could cause the sudden problem, is it possible the wires could be connected to the wrong spark plugs ( i replaced the old ones one by one, so i know i didnt connect it wrong) any tips would be great: The wire burned on something hot and is arcing to ground. Replace it and use a wire loom to stand it away from the problem surface. That clicking sound is the arc.

This is the place separating yours from theirs. Anything on your side of that is yours and you are responsible for maintaining it. Changing it is not difficult. You need some wire, fittings and a tool to attach the fittings. The peiople who sell that should be glad to explain how to do what. Most of the connection boxes now use a plug-in connector so it becomes a piece of cake. If the wire toward the street from there is the problem, just report it and a staticky phone. Something I could use single time.: Are you asking about solder itself, or the wires used to join things together with solder? You can use any wire that meets the current load requirements to put in a jumper wire. does not matter where it comes from. Yes, old TV wires and such can be used to make a jumper. You have to know what current goes through it, if it's a power wire, so it does not overheat or burn up. Otherwise, all signal type wires (analog or digital signals), can use just about any size wire if there is no real heavy current in them. As for Solder, there is no real way to get around that - you have to use solder to fix a soldered connection. Always pre-tin the new wire first (melt solder on wire first, and clean off excess solder). Then heat the connection and wire equally at the same time and touch the solder between the wire, connection and solder tip. The wire has to be hot enough to melt the solder - do not put the solder in the solder gun tip alone, that won't flow properly...

Q: I connected my wires in the morning and something aint righti put two wires incorrect but i dont see it... can some oneput them together for me cuz i really cant see where i did wrongmaybe some one else will find it ...: are you connecting this to an after market deck/stereo? well if so, it would have been a MILLION times easier to not cut the wires and just get a wiring harness, no need to cut any wires or anything... all you need to do is connect the wiring harness to the car stock stereo harness then plug it into the back of the deck so put your wires back to how they were, and get a wiring harness lol, only 5-20bucks i got mine for 5 off the internet.. my brother got his for 15 from wal-mart and they have them at best buy for around 20

Q: Kind of a confusing question I guess. I want to cut a wire that contains 3 other wires and splice into them then reconnect them. is all I need relatively the same gauge wire or is it potentially different type like some sort of special speaker wire..? Should be one positive one negative and the other some sort of signal for sound. (Microphone to a speaker).
