- The only way to do that is to supervise them every single time they have the option to bite something you don't want them biting. If you can't supervise them, they need to be confined somewhere with appropriate things. A crate is best, since there are no walls or cabinet edges to tempt them. Confined in their crate with good toys, such as a chewing ball or other safe chews, their only option is to play with appropriate things. Confine them during their most active learning period, before they get a chance to form bad habits. - You could hire a stream cleaner?about (?15) to hire. it would take a little while for your sofa to dry out but it would come up clean. You could just unload a whole can of fabreeze onto it? you could have it cleaned by a professional and then have it scotch guarded too keep away smells in the future.

- I have a really nice Clayton Marcus sofa which has served me well for years. I couldn't be happier with the construction quality and style. I'd look for something that had eight-way hand tied spring base construction. Also, make sure the frame is hardwood. My sofa cushions are down wrapped which really adds to comfort and durability. Here are other good brands to consider Ethan Allen, Drexel-Heritage, Century and Henredon. I'd stay away from Broyhill, Bassett, or Lane.

- It's a nice couch. There are some things to check first before you buy it: 1. Is it real leather? If not, it'll flake and peel sooner rather than later, especially if it gets lots of use. 2. Is it ALL real leather? Some companies scr*w you by having just the seat cushions made of leather and the rest is a fake leather. You want to make sure that the ENTIRE couch is leather. 3. Make sure there is double stitching on the edges, corners and where any 2 pieces of leather meet. If it's not all real leather, then the price is a bit high... But you're right. It won't go out of style quickly. Yes, it looks comfortable but I must say, I'm not a fan of leather sofas, as they are cold in the winter, hot and sticky in the summer. And you do need to take care of them. Real leather needs a leather conditioner at least every 6 months. Fake leather can be treated with normal cold cream to keep it supple and to keep it from fading and peeling.

- on microfiber everything causes stains, even water. only way to clean microfiber furniture is to clean the entire couch. you CANNOT spot clean it

- It could be a spray that they use to keep the fabric fresh and to keep the damp out. I had it with mine and it faded away after a few weeks. Your sofa has probably been wrapped up for a while and thats why it needs a good airing. You could spray febreeze, it wont do it any harm.
