Q: i really don't understand the rug sizing.Could somebody please explain:a: roughly what size rug fits what size ponyb: what size would fit my Welsh Sec C stallion?: You can measure your pony from the center of his chest to the center of his butt (across the barrel of his body) That measurement for a pony is generally in the 60-70 range, give or take. (inches) We have a 13.1 pony who wears a 62 and another who wears a 66. It depends on how long his body is. Your best bet is to measure. Or try one on. Happy shopping :)

Q: Okay so I know a lot of you are like ew, why does your carpet smell? But I need some serious help its embarrassing. My aunt smokes and I borrowed some shoes from her and if you've ever come in contact with a smoker you know the smell gets into everything. My room started to smell of musty cigerette's and I found it was the carpet because of the shoes. I've tried this Glade Carpet Room Odors but it just seems to mask the smell terribly instead of getting rid of it. I'm thinking I might have to clean it on hands and knees, using some soap and water.: You can purchase carpet fresh and place this on the carpet 15 minutes before you vacuum and then vacuum it up. It may take several applications over a few weeks to cure the problem. I used baby powder and that worked just fine. Don't inhale the powder when you put it down. Or you can use any other scented body powder. I like the fragrance better than carpet fresh.

Q: i am trying to find out how much it will cost about to put carpet in an average size room approx13 by 17. i just want middle of the roead carpet, but does anyone have a guess?: I just went carpet shopping today and found that for two rooms that measure approx. 26ftx 16ft that it will cost almost $900. Q: My dog got ahold of one of my moms plants. I told her it was stupid to buy them while the dog was in the house. How do I clean the carpet?!: Depending on what kind of carpet it is (wool, polypropolene etc.) I would take a stiff brush and try to get the dirt out of the carpet. first and then vacuum again. I have a lightweight carpet cleaner. After using a still brush I use the carpet cleaner/vacuum. I put white vinegar and warm water in the resevoir and use that to clean any remaining stains. So far that has worked for everything my cat has done to my rugs. It sometimes takes 2 rounds with the vinegar but that's all I use.

Q: My neice spilled pink nail polish on a beige carpet, what can i do to take it out?: If it didn't go into the carpet, let it dry. If it is just lightly on the surface, you can take a razor blade and scrape it off after it dries. If you try to use nail polish remover, it will smear, spread, and make it look worse. The best thing to do on carpet is to try to remove it when it's dry and can be scraped or cut off. I slopped latex paint on my carpet. After it dried, I took thin shears and got just behind the dried paint and cut it away. Although nail polish is not a latex, I still think this is the best way to go. If you must try to use remover, try to get the dry polish off as much as you can first. Then with the remover, stay limited to just the area of the spill, so as not to spread it.

Q: HOW TO TREAT RUG BURN?: As quickly as the burn occurs, cool it down with some cold water. Keep the burn in cold water until the sensation of heat has subsided. After it has cooled, begin to dry the area with a towel. It is important to dry the burn as you don't want an infection or something down the line. Keep the burn from touching fabric of any sort. This will only agitate the burn, making the situation worse and the area sore. Use an anti-biotic lotion of some kind to treat the burn. This will disinfect the area and prep it for being covered. If it is large enough, wrap gaze around the burn to help cover it. Otherwise, you can use a bandage. You can also use Aloe Vera.

Q: He only poops when the door is open, other than that he uses his littler box. ( little box is cleaned 2 x a day.) He does this even when we wash and bleach the rug. WHY!: The rug backing has a chemical quite often that smells like pee to a cat. It's too subtle for humans to smell but it's very strong to a cat's nose, and some decide that it's ok to poop there because it already smells like the litter box. Even washing the rug won't affect the manufacturing smell that's on it.

Q: I have a stain on my carpet. It's from tanning lotion cream. The carpet is beige, and wool. Is there any way I could get this out?: You have to be careful with wool, a lot of products that can clean carpet can also damage it (though typically, good wool carpeting is very cleanable compared to the synthetics or cheaper wool). The solution is dependent upon the stain and color of the stain. Your best bet would be to have it professionally cleaned using hot water extraction (aka - steam cleaned), by a reputable carpet cleaner. By reputable, I don't mean one of the large corporately owned companies, as they seem to nearly always do a horrible job. They're very in-and-out trying to make a quick buck, though they may be cheaper. They should be using chemicals to clean the carpet, and have the proper knowledge and know how to diagnose the stain and then remove it. Even if the stain cannot be removed, a good carpet restoration person can dye it back to, or very nearly to, its original color easily. We do this all the time on all colors of carpet. Without seeing the stain, its hard to tell you what exactly might work. Also, if you don't know exactly what you're doing, and you try it yourself, you could actually make the stain worse, or set it in for good. Might be able to tell you more if there was a picture to see the stain though. Anytime you spill something on your carpet that you know is likely to leave a stain, the best thing you can do is put water on it, and just keep it wet until you can have it cleaned, preferably as soon as possible.

Q: i can put carpet over a wooden floor cant i??: Yes, I worked in a carpet store for 8 years and what we told customers is to have it loose laid meaning get a roll that doesn't need seaming and can go right under the molding around the walls if you don't want the carpet tacks to mess up the wood. If you're not concerned about that then just have it laid over the floors. Best wishes
