Q: Especially seen on motorcycles with Fat tires. They have FAT rear tires and thinner and maybe even smaller front tires. Why is that so?And can you name me motorcycles with FAT tires both front and rear? Same size etc?
First, the rear tire drives the motorcycle. And the more power you have, the more traction you need in the rear to keep the tire from just breaking loose. But also it can be a matter of style. For many years, Harley Davidsons had no suspension in the rear. The seat was sprung to absorb some shock, but also the rear tire was much bigger/fatter than it needed to be, to cushion the ride somewhat. Today that's part of the style of a cruiser. Many cruisers (Harley's 'Softail', and many Japanese cruisers) hid their rear suspension to look like they have a rigid rear end, and the big rear tire is part of that.
Q: can someon please clarify me the differnce betweentyre rotatin and wheel aligntmentthow often do we need to do this.how do we know that these are really required
tyre rotation is moving the tyres on a car to different corners to even out the wear. Not may people do it anymore. wheel alignment is making sure the front wheel's toe-in angle is correct. Required if front tyre wear pattern is unusual.
Q: What is the gas in the car tires?
Nitrogen
Q: My 2001 VW Cabrio, The drivers side tire has been shaking for only about 5 seconds then smoothes out. I have had the tires aligned, changed the shocks, springs, and had all the ball joints checked. everything is ok.What else would make my drivers side tire wobble.
That used to happen with a certain kind of tires, way back when, especially if the weather was cold. When sitting, the tire would set in a misshapen form from the weight of the car being in just one place. Once you started rolling, the tire(s) would soon regain their round shape and be OK. Try swapping the offending wheel tire with one on the other side of the car, and see if the problem follows the tire. If it doesn't, you have a problem with a dragging brake, worn-out bearing or some such. If it does follow the tire, most likely it is just an old, tired tire. Replacing it would probably stop the temporary wobble - if you're worried about it.
Q: does it mean it doesnt hav a tube inside the tire??? why is it called so?pls tell me in detail... Thanks in Advance....
A better question might be what's an inner tube ?
Q: Hi, I have been wanting to buy a motorcycle for a very long time now and just started wondering one day what would happen if you got a flat tire on a motorcycle? I mean, if you got a flat tire somehow then you‘d pretty much be dead, especially on a highway. Is there some kind of safety protection that prevents flat tires? Maybe stronger tires that can‘t be pierced through by nails, glass, etc.?
You can carry puncture plug kits to get you home, with a small compressed gas cylinder to pump it up – they are fine unless you puncture a sidewall. The chances of having a catastrophic puncture – losing pressure very quickly – are less nowadays thanks to construction developments, not completely out of the question though. Normally you have time to react, check around you, signal and move to the side. It is possible to ride on a flat tyre – takes a bit of confidence to go round a corner though and will not do your wheels many favours. If you find a nail in your tyre, and it hasn’t deflated, do not pull it out until you are home (go slow and keep checking the pressure) the chances are that it will hold in the puncture.
Q: How do car tires stop using scrapped?
Tire life is generally 2-3 years or driving 6-10 million km or so. Tape depth should be changed at 1.6mm (minimum wear). More than the shelf life of the tires (especially spare tire, spare tire life is roughly 3 years), the overall performance has declined
Q: other than weight, what are the benefits that inflatable tires have over a tire that would be made solid rubber?
Cost, and Tires are inflated with air, which provides a flexible cushion between the vehicle and the road that smooths out shock and provides for a comfortable ride quality. the pneumatic tire also has a more important effect of vastly reducing rolling resistance compared to a solid tire. Because the internal air pressure acts in all directions, a pneumatic tire is able to absorb lumps and bumps in the road as it rolls over them without experiencing a reaction force opposite to the direction of travel, as is the case with a solid (or foam-filled) tire. The difference between the rolling resistance of a pneumatic and solid tire is easily felt when propelling wheelchairs or baby buggies fitted with either type.
Q: Are these necessary to do on a regular basis for preventative maintenance or do you only need them if you experience problems or when you get new tires?
buy some spider repellent and put it in areas of the shed that u think spiders get in.
Q: I just refilled the air pressure in my front tires last week and they already look like they are getting flat again. There was only 8lbs of pressure when I last refilled. It seems like this happens weekly. The tires are only a year old so I really don‘t want to have to replace them. Visual inspection shows no big tears, nails or holes. My question is, is there a simple go to the store and fix it myself solution or will I have to set some money aside and take it to the shop. My back tires are fine and they are older but never seem to have the problems I‘m currently having.
Just a slow leak. The seal might need to be reset or there is a too small to see hole. Take it to a garage and say you have a slow leak and they'll take it from there. Last time I brought a tire in (just the tire), I took it to a Walmart auto shop and it took about 20 minutes and $10.
