Q: I've got a badly clogged bathroom sink. I took out the draiin cover and I can see where the water is just standing/ draining extremely slowly. I can't reach the clog, but I was able to get a wire coat hanger into it and pull out a small bit of hair (not sure how hair even got into the sink!) but it didn't do anything to speed the draning. There could be a small bit of gravel in the drain from a few months ago as well as some bits of paper (all on accident, I'd never put anything down there!). I already tried some baking soda and vinegar but it didnt help, the vinegar just made the water level raise. The water is maybe 6 or 7 inches from the drain (not in the sink, in the pipe). What should I do? Thanks for your help :): get some lye (NaOH) from the diy store. preferrably pallets. let it sink (no pun intended) to the bottom (best with boiling water but if its already full it cant). and let it sit out for a day. if that doesnt work a plumber should come

Q: Over the weekend I put a reddish packet down on my NEW, WHITE bathroom sink. When I went to pick the packet up I saw it had left a PINK STAIN about the size of a half dollar on my new sink (I *think* the sink is porcelain but I'm not positive. It is *not* marble or any other stone. It is - I believe - basic bathroom sink material). Anyway, I used some Comet bathroom cleaner. Did nothing. I then tried bleach (big mistake! Q: We recently renovated our entire house and we replaced all the faucets in the entire house. The electric hot water heater was also relocated. If you get hot water anywhere in your house, the water heater is not the problem either. When you turn on those faucets on as if to get hot water out of those faucets & the water NEVER gets hot, that means that your contractor improperly connected those faucets. In other words, those faucets are not connected to the hot water line. You're going to have to call that contractor back to have him fix his screw-up. Good luck.

Q: how d i caulk around the sink it seems that im mentally challenged at caulking. i do all of the house repairs with ease just not this. its a circular sink and the old stuff failed after 10 years. i bought GE 3 hour silicone shower caulking to do it with the caulking gun. when i start applying it it looks good and every thing then i go to wipe it then it spreads onto the counter top and sides of the sink. then when im trying to clean it up with a rag it picks the caulking up fine but then takes out allot of the stuff i just put around the sink and looks un even. then by the time i clean one part it has started to dry then i go wipe the other part and it goes into balls. honestly i dont know how to do it. any help would be great.: When I was remodelling and putting in the bathroom sinks (3) I got a tip from my brother in law, mr fix it all.
