Q: I took everything out and it's still there. Smells like something rotting, I live in a condo. Any ideas what it is, and what I can do to get rid of it.
Squirt some vinegar or some bathroom cleaner down there and wait for about 15-20 minutes. After, rinse it and the smell should be gone. --- An overflow is cast into a bathroom sink near the rim. If the sink is overfilled, water drains through the overflow hole(s), through a small passageway, and into the trap. Smelly, sludge-like material can build up in the passageway. You can clean away this sludge. Mix a strong solution of detergent and very hot water. Pour it down the overflow. If the smell persists, try a mixture of laundry bleach and water followed by thorough rinsing with water. If you can see sludge, loosen it with a stiff brush and rinse it away. --- Sewer smell in home When you detect a sewer smell in your home, there may be a dry trap in the drainage system. Often the smell comes from a floor drain in the basement. All drains to a sewer system have a P shaped trap which is usually filled with water. The trap provides a seal to keep out sewer gas. If your basement floor drain is rarely used, water evaporates from the trap over time. Eventually the seal is eliminated, allowing sewer gas (and smell) into your house. The solution is easy: pour water into the drain. If the smell is noticeable mainly around a sink, try flushing a strong cleaner and bleach down the sink's overflow-the small hole(s) inside the bowl near the rim. When the sink fills to near overflowing, water is routed through an inner chamber to the drain. Debris can collect inside the inner chamber, causing odor. If neither of these measures solves the problem, there may be a small leak in one of the vent lines of the plumbing system, or a small leak around the base of a toilet or other fixture. You may need the help of a plumber. Check for loose fittings, corrosion, or holes in vent piping. Also, check the top side of horizontal drain pipes. If the top is rusted, it may never leak liquid, but it will leak sewer gas. Drain lines made of copper, steel or cast iron may all exhibit this problem.
Q: Hangzhou artificial stone basin basin environmental assessment approval
National EIA approval procedures are the same.
Q: In my apartment my bathroom sink is having problems. Whenever i turn the water on the water collects in the sink of course. The problem is the sink takes a very long time to drain the water. My sink is draining the water but it takes a long time to drain i saw about 30 minutes to drain. What is wrong with my sink?
Kelly, if you look as you do in the picture, and wash your hair in the sink, then it is a good bet that there's quite a wad of it in the drain. If you have a drain that has one of the pull up push down buttons near the back of the spigot, that drain plug that drops down into the hole will also catch and hold hair, eventually making a large clump to plug the drain. There is a new, small, snake type of drain cleaner available for less than $2 at most all the home improvement stores and probably hardware and large grocery stores. It's flexible plastic, with small thorn-like protrusions all along the outside of the unit and a round hole, for your finger to grab through at the top. The idea is to push the snake down into the drain as far as you can get it, then turn it around a few times and pull it out. If there's anything there, it will wrap itself around the snake and come out when you remove it. You may want to do this a few times if you get much on the first try, if you decide to buy one of the units. Some of the other answers were correct in saying that your landlord is responsible to keep the plumbing functioning properly, unless you have some sort of clause in your lease in which you've agreed to take care of it. And that's fine, if you have a very nice landlord, who gets right on these things. If not, however, it can sometimes be a long interval between when you alert him to a problem and when it actually gets fixed. The P trap under the sink may be partially or nearly all clogged with the hair and whatever else may have fallen down there over time, so you'll need to decide which way you want to go. For the $2 or less, it might be worth it to just try to make it better while you wait for professional help.
Q: There doesnt seem to be any brackets. We attached the cabinet to the wall and attached the drain and water supply but the sink itself isnt secured to anything and doesnt seem safe.
If the sink is round or oval shaped and sits in a cutout, then you put a bead of caulk all the way around the bottom surface of the sink flange and press down into the hole. You remove the excess caulk with your finger leaving a nice rounded fillet. The caulk will act like a glue to hold the sink firmly to the countertop.
Q: 304 stainless steel basin why there will be rust at the bottom
Processing methods: 1) to the local electromechanical market, buy stainless steel passivation paste (method to sell stainless steel passivation cream will tell you); 2) and then with 360 # crystal sand (water sand skin) rub; 3) Wheel polishing
Q: Ceramic one Taiwan basin is good or a good platform
Table pots of water is easy to water out, cleaning trouble, one pot convenient, the use of space. Beautiful and almost, you used to know, I used to use the basin pot, and finally for the one
Q: What do you think is more appealing? A wooden cabinet with a one piece vanity top for a sink that would double as storage or a pedestal sink made of porcelain and a piece of wooden bathroom furniture that would be the storage unit?
The pedestal sink is more in vogue now days. We just remodeled our bathroom and installed the pedestal sink and took out the vanity and the one piece counter top. It really made the room appear larger.
Q: I took off the cap that covers the whole in the sink because sometimes soap starts overflowing in the sink when i wash my hands. And since i took the cap off it doesnt happen anymore. But if i leave the top off can any bugs crawl through the pipe and into my bathroom?
You're referring to the lavatory - the sink on your bathroom. Yeah, it depends on the size of the drain hole. I can't think though what would came from the pipes except for rats and vermin. Well, Sometimes roaches can hide from there. But not likely because of the trap.
Q: how do you fix a hole and crack in a Porcelain bathroom sink?
The hardware stores sell porcelain repair kits w/ instructions. But the best thing to do is replace it.
Q: So I have a family of cats. We found a pregnant cat 2 years ago, and she had 3 boys, so we have mommy and her boys. We also have a foster cat for a local shelter. Our litter boxes are located in our master closet, which is attached to our master bath. Fluff, her youngest son, has decided to start peeing in the sink. But ONLY after I've emptied the litter box. It's always the same sink, there's no blood in his urine, and he doesn't strain to urinate, or show any other signs of a UTI. Is he just pissed off because of all the cats? This is only a recent problem, but we've had plenty of other foster cats, and they've always gotten along. Its the only other thing I could think of. He was neutered at 6 months old too. (he's now 2)
If okorder /X-Mat-Extra-Traini... How many litter boxes do you have? You should have 1.5 times the number of cats in your home, and they should be in different locations. According to cat behaviorist Pamela Johnson-Bennett, litter boxes that are next to each other count as one box. He may not like to poop and pee in the same box, which is very common. He may not especially like the location of the boxes. There are a lot of things you can try. Good luck!
