Q: Anyone have any experience with a Dyson?
I use a dyson on my floors and it works wonderful, though i don't use the power head on the hard wood floors and the rotation on the brush can cause damage but the normal head that comes with it is fantastic. Some vaccums have ranges where they are suited for pet hairs I am not sure about dyson as I don't have pets in the house, but with 2 girls in the hosue with long long hair it helps to have a good vaccum and my choice is dyson!
Q: I'm a guy who isn't extremely familiar with vacuum cleaners so maybe someone can help. I was running around the house with my Kenmore Progressive vacuum cleaner and I accidentally pushed the adjustable thingy that lets you set the height of the vacuum. This adjuster thing is about halfway down the silver tube. The second I touched it, the carpet cleaning part shut off so it's just sucking air. I pushed everything together as hard as I could trying to get it to come back on but with no luck. I had been vacuuming for quite a while. Do these things shut off when they get too hot and stay off until they cool? It seems kind of fishy that it died right when i touched the adjuster thing though. Any ideas?
sounds like you may have broken your belt when you adjusted the height. turn it over and turn it on, if the brush doesn't spin, you have to take the stupid thing apart and change the belt. this is the most common problem that people have with vacuums.
Q: They are so dangerous. Vacuum Cleaners with cords are dangerous becauseYou can trip over the cordYou can get suffocated by the cordYou can lose extremitiesOr even worse...DeathI wonder why vacuum cleaners with cords are still being made. They are very dangerous, and it takes forever to vacuum with them because they cause people to trip or get caught up in the cord. There should be a law that makes it so that no more vacuum cleaners with cords can be manufactured after February 17, 2009-just like the DTV law. What do you think about these death trap vacuum cleaners?
lol lol i never heard of that i never had that problem and i would just hold the cord when you vac
Q: I have tried duct tape, bounce sheets, rubber gloves, lint rollers and vacuum cleaners. The only thing that has worked is picking out the hairs one by one. We recently moved and the owners gave us a game chair and its like the pet hair is embedded into the cover. (Its just the cover.) I'm afraid to wash it in fear of the hair transferring to the washer and dryer (prior experience) and the clips on the cover may tear it up.
customer comments expenditures a Riccar form because of the fact the wonderful for choosing up puppy hair ($350). The Bissell would do a great job-I actual have one that i exploit in my basement (the carry-Off Revolution), and am chuffed adequate with it...it does not have the suction that a Dyson does, inspite of the undeniable fact that it does a great job. i've got been making use of this one for 3 years without subjects. i'm plenty happier with the Dyson Animal, nevertheless...I even use it to hoover the canines-that's properly well worth the money.
Q: Isn't that suspicious?
You're mistaken;-{ there are dozens of references: Job 37:9 Out of the south comes the whirlwind. Proverbs 1:27. 10: 25 as the whirlwind passes. Isaiah 5:28, 17:13, 21:1, 66:15, Jeremiah 4:13 His chariots... as wirlwind. Hosea 8:7 they shall reap the whirlwind. Amos 1:14 in the day of the whirlwind.
Q: With Mother's Day around the corner I thought I'd ask something we all can use. There seems to be this idea floating around that many women don't like to receive things like vacuum cleaners, irons, etc. and would rather recieve something more sentimental in value. Men, on the other hand, love receiving tools and things that they can use to do things with. Most of the women in my family like getting things they can use like a vacuum cleaner or something to cook with, so I have to wonder if that thought is really true. So women, if you received a vacuum cleaner or some similar gift, would you be offended by it? If you would be, why? Is it implying that you are the homemaker because you're a woman?
It depends. I think this idea came from husbands giving wives vaccum cleaners for gifts, instead of something for that person's genuinely personal use (and enjoyment). Also, if you both vacuum half the time, then a vacuum isn't a present for the other person, but for you both. There are some holidays that are supposed to be more personal and romantic -- so, unless you KNOW it's all she wants, not brooms for Valentine's Day, if you follow me. Mostly, it depends knowing the recipient -- which is a lot of what gifts are supposed to be about; did you give thought to what THIS person would want; do you actually KNOW this person, or are you clueless. (Thus, coming from a hubby, when he should know better, is part of the problem.)
Q: I've heard Oreck vacuum cleaners are very good and light weight, has anyone had good or bad luck with them?
I don't know much about Oreck cleaners themselves, but the Oreck Corporation has my undying respect for what they did in the aftermath of Katrina. David Oreck made the corporate HQ (in southern LA somewhere) available for anyone who needed somewhere to live or to just ride out the storm. He continued to pay people who couldn't come to work and reopened the factory very quickly after the storm. He and his company shelled out millions and I think they deserve our business.
Q: I know that most cats are afraid of the vacuum cleaner, but when we vacuum our adult cat will hide for hours on end. We have dark carpet so we vacuum almost every other day. It took him 4 hours to come out from behind our table, and when I coaxed him to me, he just sat frozen next to me and stared at the vacuum that was across the room. He was literally shivering at the sight of it. When I went to put it away, he went back under the table. I cannot get him to come back out. I've tried leaving him in another room while I vacuum, but he knows how to open doors and hates being shut up in our room or the bathroom. Last time I tried, he opened the bathroom door and then bolted under the table. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I have to vacuum frequently, but I feel guilty when I do because he is so afraid. We have had him for about 2 weeks and are still trying to figure him out. Is this normal cat behavior, or are most cats simply bothered by vacuums?
It's skittish my brothers cats will run even if your leg twitches . I don't know if there a coat you can get him like they have a thunder jacket for dogs. Leave the vacuum out one day and let him sniff it. Since you haven't had him long he could still be getting use to everything.
Q: What are the OSHA regulations on repairing electrical cords on appliances like Vacuum cleaners?
if you are concerned with a vacuum at work in a company with the qualifying number of employees and you want to know whether a licensed electrician has to do the repairs the answer is no. the NEC considers it an appliance. if the cord is damaged it should be replaced. Taping it up will not pass for OSHA
Q: So I like seen Jurassic Park again in the 3D room at my movie plex and then I realized something. I was vacuuming and a paper clip got sucked in then I recalled that when I hear the velociraptors.
LOL! I hadn't thought of that. But I suppose it's true. Funny observation.
