- Q: I was playing a game and then my keyboard wouldn't work. But my mouse did work. I closed down the game and then went onto a website and my keyboard still wouldn't work. It didn't work for my whole computer. I had to restart it, and its really annoying because ive been having to restart it about every 20 minutes or so. Why is this? - try sticking the keyboard into another computer to see which is broken, the computer or the keyboard. if its the key board, well old keyboards use old fashioned plugs that trap dust(or insects) easily, so blow those out, if its the computer do a full virus scan to see if a keylogger or virus has somehow screwed up ur keyboard. send the keyboard to a repair shop if nessasry

- Probably your keyboard is not able to receive MIDI data in several tracks at once. That is, it can not read, say, drums in track 1, piano in track 2 and so on, and perform it right. I bet it can only read one single midi channel, and you may not been even able to select it. Try to connect your keyboard to your PC and play a known MIDI song, put your keyboard in whole keyboard mode (neither rythms nor chords) and see what happens.

- Here's a site I used to buy my (musical) keyboard from recently. It has reviews of the top musical keyboards. It seems to be geared mostly toward the top keyboards for beginners--that's me. - Definitely sounds like the keyboard is messed up. But you can try reinstalling drivers as a last resort. Assuming you are using Windows 7, go to Control Panel and find Device Manager. When that opens look for Keyboard in the list. Click that and choose UNINSTALL. Then restart your computer and see if it fixed you rproblem. If not, your keyboard is mechanically zonked.
