- Q: that keeps shedding. it's a wool rug and I love it, but I just bought it and it shed shed sheds all over the place. What to do to stop the shedding.....or will it just continue forever?
- Spray the rug with a static protector spray from time to time .
- Q: would it look funny if i had the fuzzy white rug on it because i really want one!!!!
- I was unable to open the links but I have seen this done on home decor shows before. If the bottom rug is much larger than the top one, it can look perfectly fine. People do this a lot to cover stains on wall to wall carpet when they can't afford to replace it. Buy the fur rug if you like it, if it doesn't work on the blue rug, put it elsewhere or return it. You have to follow your gut on this one.
- Q: himy apartment already has carpet, but it looks kinda ratty, so i bought an area rug.....it keeps bunching up in the same spot though.....is there any adhesive i could buy that works on carpet?
- You can get rug hold from your local hardware store and it should not cost that much. Add the rug hold. If the crease stays, boil a kettle, do not drench it, but dribble a bit on the backing of the carpet that is creased after removing the rug hold. Put some weight on it and leave for a few hours. When the crease has gone, re-appy the rug hold and it should be fine. Good luck Joe Kelly Kingsland floors
- Q: i have large area rugs on my carpet and the are moving and sliding all around. which tape have you had the best experience with? thanks
- This Site Might Help You. RE: which is the best tape to use to keep my area rugs in place on top of my carpet? i have large area rugs on my carpet and the are moving and sliding all around. which tape have you had the best experience with? thanks
- Q: I have a very large area rug. It has lots of browns blacks. I want to lighten it sum how dye a medium-dark blue. But I may have to dye black. I like the rug it just doesn't go with my sons room decor. Please Help. Any information is appreciated. Thanks!
- I took mine outside and washed it on an area where I have gravel. A deck would be good also. Try using some bleach and water to lighten it. Rince very well. I put liquid rit dye in a garden sprayer with Hot water and 1/2 cup salt and sprayed the carpet. I waited a couple of hours and mixed up another batch and sprayed it again. After it was somewhat dry I layed it over the fence to dry.
- Q: My carpet had high traffic so I bought a large bottle of carpet spray from the grocery store. I sprayed and worked the solution in with a sponge, I cleaned a 5X7 area = 35sq ftSome parts of the carpet are still kind of damp when walking on them, it has been 20 hours.I have my windows open and I live in Colorado, very dry...humidity meter in my house says 26 right now. Even with my windows open for the past 20 hours the carpet still isn't completely dry.I am concerned about mold because I lived in a house once where we had mold problems and I don;t want them again! I read Mold can grow very fast...Since I used carpet cleaner and didn't just pour water on my carpets will the carpet cleaner cause mold the same way water will? Thanks!
- All carpets are magnets for dust, dirt, mold and mildew, especially the carpet backing and pad. Humidity (moisture) is not the only culprit for carpet mold. Temperature and cleanliness are equally important, too. Maintaining low temperatures where carpets reside is key. Four years ago, I removed all carpeting in my home, and replaced with tile and wood flooring. And that has made all the difference! Less dust allergies! My family sleeps better at night. For those who insist on carpeting, I recommend vacuuming weekly, and hiring a professional carpet cleaner with truck-mounted unit, once a year. And not the portable type that can be rented at grocery stores. Two important benefits of the truck-mount: One, the water is heated to 190+ degrees Farhenheit. Secondly, a powerful suction (powered by the engine). Much more powerful than any household vacuum.
- Q: From the earth quake a bottle of wine fell from a shelf breaking on my wool rug' Any ideas would help thank you

- Q: I know they make oxy cleaner for almost everything these days and they make oxy carpet cleaner but i was wondering seeing the powder oxy is cheaper then the the already made carpet cleaner can i use the tub of oxy (if i mix it with water) on the stains on my carpets just like you would use in your laundry will it do the samething or should i just buy the cleaner itself?
- As a carpet cleaning pro, I've seen hundreds of damaged carpets, mostly Nylon or Polyester, where a laundry product permanently damage the carpet dyes. When inquiring as to what caused the damage, the number one culprit was Oxy Clean Laundry Detergent. About 6 years ago, I came across a couple who used this product to fine tune the spills and stains in their carpet, severly damaging the Nylon carpet in numerous areas. They did receive a settlement from the Oxy company at that time to help replace their carpet. Their ads made it sound like they had a miracle product available. If you have Olefin carpeting, a laundry detergent may not hurt these fibers, but why take a chance. Never use bleach on any spill or stain on furniture or carpeting. I've seen thousands of damaged carpets cause by the mis - use of this laundry product.
- Q: My son got orange marker on our carpet, (which is the longer strand kind). I went to my old standby stain remover of vinegar baking soda which I've never had any issues with until now. Now the orange marker is gone but I have a fairly large spot that's now much lighter than the rest of the carpet! And the spot cannot be easily covered and is in a very visible place. Please help!
- A friend of mine did it by a professional. Came out really nice and lasted for yrs.
- Q: I have stains in my carpet and I have used everything there is. So I want to know can I spray paint my carpet?
- I've never heard of it being done, but that doesn't mean that it can't be done. If you use a permanent fabric dye (I suggest trying it on a small carpet remnant first, so you can see if the color stays when you clean it), you should be able to load it into a sprayer and dye your carpet. You wouldn't want to walk on it the first week because you might spread the dye to areas that you didn't want in in. I have a room that I might consider trying it in too.
