Introduction:
Laminate flooring is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product, fused together with a laminationprocess. Laminate flooring ismost often four layers of materials,From topto bottom is Durable Overlay, Decorative Paper, HDF board, Balance Paper.
Durable Overlay is made by applying an AL2O3 solution over transparent paper, AL2O3 is very fineand thus it does not hide the color and design of the decorative paper.
Decorative Paperis a computer made paper which imitates natural wood, stone etc, by applying AL2O3to decorative paper, the latter becomes protected from the environment.
HDF board are made of wood fiber compressed into a high density panel (≥880kgs/m3).
Balance Paper is the thick and strong paper treated with AL2O3 on the back of laminate flooring,it gives stability to the laminate flooring boards and provide a measure ofisolation from under-floor humidity.

- Q: Is Ok to wax engineered wood floor?
- NO! Engineered wood floors are 99% of the time, prefinished with the urethane already applied at the factory. I have seen where people have tried to wax them....and it has been a mess that is quite pricey to fix. The beauty of prefinished engineered floors, is that you don't have to maintain them the way you used to....by waxing. If they need additional cleaning...Bruce makes a wonderful cleaner that can be purchased at Home Depot. Bruce hardwood cleaner....in a green bottle....just squirt cleaner on floor, and use dust mop that comes with cleaner.
- Q: Composite floor sound how to deal with
- Hello! Floor sound that there are empty holes, there may be keel uneven, you can contact the manufacturers. Hope to help you! Look adopted Oh
- Q: Our home is warm to the floor is good or floor tiles are good what price ah more
- Geothermal room floor tiles and flooring are possible, these two materials are different, also have their own inconvenient place: First, the tiles of the thermal conductivity is better, faster heat, and environmental protection, water, but because the floor with cement Paved, once the following water pipes have problems, maintenance is very troublesome, to knock down the floor to deal with. So if the floor tiles, we must ensure the quality of geothermal pipe. Second, the floor of the heat is relatively poor, but once the water pipe problems, maintenance more convenient, as long as the floor can be opened. In the selection of the floor, it is best to use geothermal floor, which is based on the specificity of geothermal heating to decide. 1, to adapt to hot and cold repeated transformation and conducive to heat conduction. Geothermal floor first deformation is small. 2, to facilitate heat conduction. 3, anti-moisture waterproof. The thermal conductivity of the floor is related to the thickness of the floor. The thickness of the geothermal floor is similar to that of the reinforced floor. However, the anti-deformation groove on the back is conducive to air circulation, noise reduction and thermal conductivity.
- Q: Solid wood composite floor suitable for installation to warm it?
- Pavement must pay attention to check your home to warm the pipeline and all buried in the floor under the water pipe installation is scientific, followed by the choice of the appropriate solid wood flooring. To warm wood floor selection criteria 1, the floor size is stable, can withstand the temperature change is not damaged. 2, no deformation, cracking, thermal expansion and contraction coefficient is small. 3, environmental protection, no formaldehyde and harmful gas release. 4, not afraid of water soaked floor (to prevent damage to the floor of the geothermal pipe damage). Solid wood flooring and composite floor comparison 1, in general, the composite floor is more suitable for use to warm the floor. Because the standard thickness of the floor is 6.5 ~ 8.5mm, the thickness of the composite floor is mostly 6 ~ 9mm, of which the laminate flooring is mostly 6 ~ 8mm, the three-layer parquet is 8 ~ 9mm, the heat transfer performance is better, and its The surface layer of aluminum oxide wear layer, the wear layer is conducive to the rapid spread of heat on the surface. 2, solid wood flooring in the general thickness of about 2cm, the installation should also play keel, used to warm the floor, then the floor and the ground between the air, air and wood thermal conductivity are very low, so heat is not easy to conduct to the surface, will lead to The waste of heat, the surface temperature is not uniform, the temperature difference is obvious, and the composite floor after high temperature suppression, the internal moisture content is very small, so the floor will not be due to the loss of moisture and deformation. Multi-layer solid wood flooring between the layers of each staggered, each containment, the back there are dense anti-deformation trench, decomposition of the heated surface stress, so the deformation is very small.
- Q: What you mean by Engineered flooring? What is the benificts of Engineered flooring?
- Engineered wood is an all wood product made of several plys of wood criss crossed for strength just as ply wood is. Its usually made of three plys but I ve seen cheaper stuff with as many as 5 plys. Its a thinner wood ( 3/8ths inch thick on average but you can get thinner and thicker) It s made for places where thickness is an issue and you can t use the standard 3/4 solid wood. Its more versatile in installation . than standard wood. Its made to be glued, nailed ( stapled actually) and made to float in special applications. In certain applications it can be used below grade ( certain applications mind you) . The wood is made to strict milling so it goes together easy and is very DIY er friendly. - Q: How to laminate the floor?
- It is recommended that you do ground floor treatment. Method is: playing keel leveling, and then laying a large core board, and then shop composite floor! If the use of cement leveling, raising the ground does not say, but also increase the weight of the floor, if leveling the cement layer is too thick, short time the ground dry through, the water is not completely distributed, so easy to cause composite floor expansion, drums. If the ground is relatively flat suggested that you do not make any treatment, pavement can be
- Q: The home is ready to be renovated, the mother and I are lying on the floor tile or composite floor serious differences I tend to composite floor,
- Now there is a stone floor, like a brick, but flexible, non-slip, you can inquire about it. The key is water resistance.
- Q: Today to visit the building materials market. The Obediently made a few brands of the same price of the same plate a little bit of care about the heart of the sea, The Recommend a high price of the brand it , And! More
- Composite floor is also very popular now, to introduce you to a brand it, my family is also used in peace floor, quality and price aspects are quite good. Began to buy a lot of time to see the floor of the brand, the head is dizzy. Finally, after the introduction of colleagues finally selected peace of mind floor, after pavement, see the final results, the election on the floor. Nice good, strong introduction to their home. You can go to the store to see, you can go to the site up to check their relevant information. Their home floor is very novel, style and color are very good, are very cater to the needs of the market
- Q: How thick is the composite floor?
- General national standard composite floor thickness is 1.5cm, higher or less than this number are not standard. Generally between 0.8-1.5cm. Composite flooring is one of the flooring. But the composite floor was artificially changed the natural structure of the floor material, to achieve a physical performance in line with the requirements of the floor. Composite flooring in the market often refers to strengthen the composite wood flooring, solid wood flooring. However, the term composite flooring does not exist in terms of technical terms and national industry standards. Composite flooring classification: (1) to strengthen the composite floor: reinforced composite wood flooring is popular in recent years, the ground material. Official scientific name: impregnated paper laminated wooden floor. It is in the wood after crushing, filling glue, preservatives, additives, hot press high temperature and high pressure suppression treatment. (2) solid wood flooring: solid wood flooring is divided into three layers of solid wood flooring, multi-layer parquet, the new solid wood flooring three, because it is made of different species of sheet staggered laminated, so overcome the solid wood Floor unilateral homogeneity of the shortcomings, dry shrinkage expansion rate is small, with good dimensional stability, and retain the solid wood flooring natural wood and comfortable foot feeling.
- Q: We had bought some Virginia Millworks 1/2 thick hand scraped engineered nail down flooring for our kitchen. I had asked the guy at Lumber Liquidators where we bought it from if I needed to take the flooring out of the boxes to let it acclimate and he said no, that I could leave it in the boxes. When we got it home all we did was remove the plastic wraping from the boxes and then let the boxes sit side by side, not stacked, in the kitchen. We don't have a lot of space to leave the flooring out anyway. I then got sick for a while so everything sat in the kitchen as we left it for 3 weeks. I'm better and ready to lay it down this weekend but I just read that if I don't have a moisture meter to test the moisture content then I should lay the flooring out of the packaging for 7 days. Should I still do that or do you think having the flooring resting 3 weeks in unsealed cardboard boxes is fine? It's going down over a raised wooden sublfoor with red rosin paper, if it matters. Thanks in advance.
- You should be fine. Moisture testing is generally done for new construction since subflooring can be exposed to the weather and it will take a long time to dry properly.Unless of course your floor has been exposed to these conditions, which I don t think so..The only thing I would ve done was to open the boxes, but thats generally done when acclamating the wood for a 72 hr time frame.Rosin paper is fine.. As far as cleats or staples are concerned, that should be check w/ the manufacturer. Staples are now usually ok from the makers , but make sure 1st, you don t want to void your warranty. The length of the staple will be specified too. To drive staples there are 2 types of guns you can use.The stand up and drive them in or a special trigger type gun that you are on your knees and shoot them in. This is the method I prefer w/ the engineered wood since its easier to set the wood in place and staple. Don t forget a 10$ pair of knee pads. Any other questions you can e mail me thru my avatar GL
