Q: I bought an 85 Ford F-150 a few weeks ago. The dealer told me it had been sitting a long time. It had an oil leak and the mechanic told me to put this additive in that would make the seals expand. I did it and now I have many leaks! Why is that and what should I do?
Because the additive you put in softened the seals as well. I'd locate the leak and replace the seal. Probably beginning with valve covers and then on to the fuel pump.
Q: When you buy a cup of coffee at a store or at a gas station, what do they put in the coffee besides coffee beans and water? For example, I have heard that they put preservatives in coffee sometimes. Can coffee contain any vegetable oil products (such as mono-and-diglycerides?) When I eat things with vegetable oil I am convinced I have an adverse reaction, which I think I can get to a slighter degree from drinking coffee, which is why I asked. I am convinved vegetable oil is very unhealthy.
Pure bean coffee, can have two basic types of bean in them. The purest coffees have Arabica, but a related plant that make a bean that is similar smelling is Robusta. Arabica in its pure form is very drinkable, has a mild amount of caffeine, but Robusta was not consumed by humans until the late 1800, when coffee rust destroyed Java and other plantations. This caused a panic in the coffee industry and a search for a plant that can be used as a substitute, or for cross pollination. Robusta is now used in 30-40% of coffee blends and thee coffee manufacturer can still present it as coffee. Almost all retail coffee have this and unless marked so do 100% instant coffees. Add to that that other additives can be added to instant, and even ground coffee, the most common being chicory (which is a root vegetable), and it is possible. Stick to specialty coffees, and you may find the side effects you have disappear, since these are normally pure shade grown Arabica bean based.
Q: my mom was recently diagnosed with diabetes, it runs in our family and its made me really wary of what im eating but my problem is i dont know what foods are good and bad and i try to read ingredients on their packets but i really dont know what half the stuff is, its not just sugar intake im worried about, its everything that goes in my food. i want more information on what emulsifiers and food stablizers are, are they good or bad? and which types are good or bad?, if you could give me any help on overall what foods are better for you than others that would help aswel
depends. If the additive is chocolate to powdered milk, then no. Stabilisers are to make sure the food stays as fresh or liquid as it should be fresh. Mostly stabilisers and additives are for processed foods with no shelf life and a bland flavour or colour. They are not what you nana would use. Emulsifiers are to change the texture- oil , egg, banana, apple sauce can be emulsifiers. When it's liseted on a food label, usually it will be synthetic. In that case, I don;t eat them, I just don't. I don't spend money on food that I would avoid if I was making it myself.
Q: of 0.645 M KCl and 600 mL of 0.355 M MgCl_2? please help!!! cant seem to figure this out. Thnaks
First, we assume that both KCl and MgCl2 are fully dissolved in the solution (both are highly soluble in water which make it a very valid assumption. Second, we determine the number of moles of Cl- we can obtain from each solution: 0.235 L (0.645 mol/L) 0.152 mol 0.600 L (0.355 mol/L) 0.213 mol Total number of Cl- 0.365 mol Third, because the volumes are additive, the total volume would be 0.835 L. Now, we have all the pieces. Concentration will be 0.365 mol/0.835 L 0.437 M of [Cl-]
Q: give you a significant increase on mpg. . have you or anyone you know tried these, and if so were the results good
So far none are proven to really work. Also consider the cost of the additives. Some cost $5-10 per tank and if it only saves you 10% or less, it's just not cost effective. Stick to things that are proven to work: change how you drive, combine trips/carpool, check tire pressure, tune up an older car regularly, etc
Q: I have two jars of horseradish (or similar); one is natural and the other has added color / preservatives. how will this affect the taste? This answer seems rather straightforward, but I have been looking online for an article or some kind of proof. Thanks in advance.

LOL His Supermand sweatshirt His cell phone My 14 yr old would grab: The bird A special blanket her great grandmother made her before she was born or a special stuffed animal bear A picture of her grandmother who passes away 4 yrs ago And for what we would leave.everything else
Q: what are the food additives for fish and their maximum allowable limit?
If you mean canned or frozen fish, it would be usually be salt, preserving type chemicals and water or oil. Read the ingredient label on the can or frozen package for additives. If you mean fresh fish, there should be no additives in it.
Q: Please Kindly answer
Food additives are substances added to food to preserve flavour or improve its taste and appearance. Some additives have been used for centuries; for example, preserving food by pickling (with vinegar), salting, as with bacon, preserving sweets or using sulfur dioxide as in some wines. With the advent of processed foods in the second half of the 20th century, many more additives have been introduced, of both natural and artificial origin.
Q: Artificial sweeteners and preservatives seem to be the biggest culprits. Some thickeners have bad side effects like guar gum, not in everyone it seems, but they‘re there none the less. I‘m wondering how the FDA can approve of all of these additives? I know they do many studies to find if they are safe but I feel like there are so many angles and other variables to take into account that they don‘t, such as outside studies. I can‘t believe how much negative information is around the artificial sweetener aspartame (in nearly every diet beverage around) but it is still considered safe by the FDA.
There are many internet hoaxes revolving around food additives. Maybe hoax isn't the right word. These aren't people who are trying to fool you. These are people who really believe what they put on the internet, but they are combining a poor understanding of the safety science with flawed logic and some subtle half-truths to conclude that there is a problem. The best way to explain this is with an example. Read my first source. Makes guar gum sound evil, doesn't it? But let's break it down. It claims that GRAS means that the item must have been under suspicion at some point. This casts a shadow of suspicion, but it is false. GRAS means that it has been used for so long without a problem in its intended use that the FDA does not require testing. You don't need to go back and prove that water is safe, or wheat. See my second source. Then it talks about a death from guar gum. That death was a woman on a starvation diet who was consuming large doses of a weight loss supplement that contained guar gum. Approved use of guar gum requires a matching amount of water be in the food so that the guar gum does not absorb too much water from your intestines and cause problems, but the use in the supplement allowed her to overdose without consuming enough water. Then it quotes a source about how guar gum can cause gastrointestinal distress. Aha, it must be evil! Gastrointestinal distress is a fancy name for the gas and cramps that can come if you suddenly eat a lot of fiber. Guar gum is the bran of the guar bean. If you suddenly eat a lot of wheat bran, you will experience gastrointestinal distress. The same thing happens with ANY fiber - some is good for you, but if you suddenly eat a lot, you will not feel well. That does not make guar gum dangerous.
Q: which is cheaper 93 octane or 89 octane with fuel additive?
you can bring the price way down by removing the wheel yourself and just bring them the assembly, that way all they do is change the tire.Of course your doing a lot of labor.
