Q: i went on the web site of microlon an it say this stuff last a life time no need to keep adding only once an your engine is protected for life is this stuff for real an it cost 99.99 for a 32 once can witch treat an 4,6,8 cylinder engine
Most people don't seem to know that modern engine oil has many oil additives already: (1) friction modifier (2) viscosity stabilizer (3) anti - foam (4) etc. And if you are not careful, the factory additive will negatively react with your after market additive. Some of these additive were important long time ago, but now modern oils is are complex cocktail of petroleum products. In general it is more important to get frequent and timely oil change than to use these additives. There are 4 most important maintenance items in your engine (1) engine oil (3k - 5K miles) (2) tranny oil (30K miles) (3) coolant (3 years) (4) timing belt (60K miles) Just keep those maintenance and your engine and tranny will be problem free. I have a 94 Civic with 187K miles and the engine + tranny + suspension runs like new. I get 41 MPG (doing 72 MPH). I can get even better MPG doing 55. Good maintenance pays off. good Luck.
Q: I am actually trying to dye my hair purple. I just bought Chi Purple Color Additive and Chi Dark Ash Ash Blonde dye with 10 Volume Chi Color Generator. I currently have long ombre hair, light/medium brown near the roots and blonde at the tips. I prefer not to make my hair darker, and I prefer not to bleach it. Does anyone know how it would turn out if I mixed the Dark Ash Ash Blonde and the purple additive?
I think if your hair was bleached before hand but it wouldn't last long
Q: As you can tell my piston rings are worn and I have blue smoke going everywhere. I just switched out the oil and went with a thicker weight and put in some bardahl stop leak additive but after a few start ups the car is still smoking. I was wondering if there was a specific amount of mileage that is needed in order for the additive to flow through the engine to temporarily stop the leak or if there was another brand of additive that‘s better or if additives just don‘t work. I realize that eventually ill have to rebuild the engine but I‘m just trying to buy some time here. Thanks.
For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/awTAe First of all no piston rings and valve stems (in most cars) don't have seals. The reason synthetic oil may cause leaks is because the detergent package is stronger. Intake manifold and valve covers do not have rubber seals. Crap and garbage build-up behind and the sides of ring grooves makes the rings stick which causes loss of compression and the ability of the lower oil ring not to scrape oil off the walls and return it to the pan as well. If your motor now uses more than a quart of oil every 2,000 miles and doesn't leak a drop synthetic oil will clean-up the the inside of the motor including the piston ring grooves which could actually lower oil use between changes. The use of molasses type additives reduces the oil pumps ability to force a high volume of oil to frictional surfaces at start-up where 80% of all engine wear occurs. When you dump in thick trick stuff the oil does not cool the internal parts of the engine as well as regular low viscosity motor oil. Same holds true when using more antifreeze than necessary. Too much antifreeze doesn't adsorb engine heat as fast or get rid of heat in the radiator.
Q: Do teflon based engine oil additives such as Nulon actually work or are they just a marketing gimmick?
A lot companies sell performance additives, but it's buyer beware when the actual usefullness comes into question. I can't recommend any Teflon based additives and personally, I wouldn't run them.
Q: i have a project that deals with the various health hazards of food additives. can someone give me a brief outline on what exactly they are.
Anything that is added into food that isnt natural
Q: i have a 1974 nova and people keep telling me i need to put a lead additive into my gas. is this true. the vehicle has an inline 6 motor.
no but i tmight ping a little if it does just add some octain booster
Q: This came up in my phlebotomy class and the teacher didn‘t really know. It must be an anticoagulant, right?
N is correct about it being Na citrate + dextrose; using packed cells (taking off plasma) removes some of it (it is about 50 ccs per unit of blood currently it is called CPDA-1). If this could be a problem, packed red cells can also be washed, removing all the anticoagulant.
Q: How much oil additive can you add to your crankcase?
why would you want to use an oil additive. If you use a good oil and change it regularly you should never put an oil additive in your engine. If you look at what these additives really are they are mostly just thicker oil with some magic crap or so they claim that will make your car run like new again. If that is the case just put a 20w50 oil and you will have the same results. As you can tell I am not a fan of oil additives. I own and operate 3 quick lube centers and have never and wont ever sell additives. I will leave a customers oil a quart low and let them waste their money and put it in themselves.
Q: I have recently started a juice fast and today is my fourth day. It will go for as long as I have the money to buy the produce. I might go for 30 days but at the least, it will be 7-10 days maybe 14.Some people say to use additives like green algae, hemp oil, ground up flax seeds and such. I would htink that two tablespoons of ground up flax seeds is like eating something bulky that my system will have to digest?? Right? I just need to know what kind of additives would be beneficial when on a juice fast or if I should just drink the juice plain. Also, please tell me what kind of a juicer you have as our champion is old and does not get enough juice. I want to replace it with something like the solostar II which I have read a lot of good reports on. They say that Norwalk Press is the best but that is WAY too much money. I can barely afford my produce right now. Thanks,Shawn
I've read that when fasting you should avoid vitamins and particularly oil-soluble vitamins. That being said, I think the additives you mention sound ok, except that I've never tried hemp oil. I would probably stick with the flax seeds for the EFAs--its use is well-established. The little bit of fiber won't hurt. Don't get too much of the green algae supplement until you make sure you like it. I got a bottle of powdered spirulina a few years back and found that it was absolutely unpalatable. Now I stick to powdered barley grass--my favorite is the original Green Magma. You can drink it straight mixed into a glass of water in the place of one of your juice meals. My juicer is a Samson GB-9001. It runs about $210-$220 and I love it. It's very powerful and useful for cooking tasks as well as juicing--I use it when I can tomato sauce and whenever I make Indian foods. It does a great job of juicing vegetables, but isn't recommended if you're juicing exclusively something hard like carrots. When juicing carrots you need to alternate the carrots with something leafy so that carrots get caught up in the auger. It's great for juicing leafy greens. Clean-up is a breeze, just disassemble and toss all the parts into the dishwasher. The Solostar II looks very similar to the Samson, except the Solostar is a few bucks more. I've never used the Solostar, but I can say that I'm pleased as punch with the Samson. Oh and make sure that you're doing the recommended internal cleansing while you're on this extended fast. It's important since without solid foods you aren't eliminating.
Q: My mom asked me if I‘m on drugs today. Like, she honestly asked me, and of course I said no. Because I would never do something like that. So then I proceeded to lock myself in my bedroom, drowning in my tears, so hurt that she would think I‘m on drugs.and she told me she‘s sorry. Then she said that she recently read about how there are additives put into our food, and it can manifest itself in our bodies like drugs do. Is she right, or am I just a crazy person? Because I KNOW I‘m not on drugs.
Some additives can affect people who are sensitive to them, but I don't think it's your food. You live with your mom, so I'm guessing you're a teen? This is NORMAL behavior for a teen. Your hormones are at the strongest they'll be in your life, and they can definitely make you spaced out at times, as well as super emotional. Don't worry, your hormones will normalize and your emotions and brain will all settle down and start to work a lot better in a few short years!
