EC can be dissolved in various organic solvents, such as fatty acid (ethanol, isopropyl alcohol), other alcohols, ketones, aromatic and so on. Common solvent (volume ratio):
1）Toluene ：Ethanol = 4:1
2）Ethanol
3）Acetone ：Isopropanol = 65:35
4）Toluene ：Isopropanol = 4:1
5）Methyl Acetate ：Methanol = 85:15

Q: is there a additive i can add to engine oil that will eliminate smoking from tailpipe?: the reason that your engine is smoking is that parts of it are worn, the only thing you can do is to change your oil and use synthetic oil, it burns clear, no additive is going to work Its going to take some time to get all of the old oil out of your engine, change it drive 500 miles and do it again, aside from that you need valve work or new pistons or rings

Q: Maybe someone can help. A few years ago I watched a documentary about an additive that was being put into gasoline that had NO purpose whatsoever except to RAISE the PRICE. It told who the company that got a contract from the government , and it raised the price of gasoline approximately 30-45 cents per gallon. It had no benefits.
