Q: I'm remodeling a house on a tight budget. All the carpet needs replaced and I was wondering if anyone has bought carpet from Ollie's Bargain Outlet? If you have, is it a good choice and will it last a long time? I was also looking at Lowes carpeting. A good friend of mine told me that Lowes carpeting isn't very good in the long run. Has anyone had any problems with it? (I'm installing the carpet on my own if that makes a difference): We have a carpet business in my family.. and if you get to see and feel the carpet a good way to tell the quality- the softer the underside of the carpet- the better. Personally I'd go with Ollie's over Lowes carpeting and no matter where you go, it really only lasts 7 years before either looking dingy or needing to be restreched, do you know how to install carpet? just asking because I can give you pointers if you dont. some people just kind of lay it in there instead of putting down the tack board and stretching it, or seaming it properly. and no matter where you get it from, make sure you get padding for underneath, if you're going to be living there, you'll regret it if you dont, makes a world of difference even on the cheapest carpets. that's all. thanks!

Q: i have a beautiful genuine chinese rug (not the cheap imitations) which needs a clean. it would cost a fortune to have it specialist cleaned i,m to frightened to try these carpet sprays etc in case the colour runs or ruin it. anyone with any ideas pls.: I okorder

Q: Well, my cat pooped on my rug. It got rolled up now the whole rug smells horrible! Is there something I can use to make it smell better/fresh.: Quick fix: Febreeze. Won't clean it, but will hide the smell. Real fix: Clean with rag water then wash the whole rug in a (large) cold cycle with Woolite--NO dryer tho... hang it on a line somewhere. (Usually they're ok to wash; check for a tag on the rug that actually says it's ok first.) Also, don't overload your washer or you may break the washer. If the rug looks too big for your washer, you can always take it to a laundromat (won't get nastiness in your clothes washing machine either).
