Q:I'm wiring a dvc 4ohm sub with 1000rms and I'm trying to wire it at 2 ohms to a mono-d amplifier. Is there a recomendation on the guage of speaker wire I should use? And Another question. When I run a wire to both positive terminals and a seperate wire to both negative terminals does that give me 8ohms or how does that work?

Q:I bought a new light that holds two light bulbs for my bathroom and quickly took off the old light. I then noticed that wall had three wires coming from it, a black, red, and white. The light however has four wires coming from it, 2 whites and 2 blacks. How do i wire this properly so both light bulbs can be turned on and off simultaneously?
I'm going to assume that you are in the U.S.A. (if not, then disregard the rest of my answer). On the new fixture, twist the ends of the black wires together and twist the ends of the white wires together. Connect the white fixture wires to the white wire in the wall (I hope it is in an electrical box). Connect the Black fixture wires to either the Black or Red wall wire. To determine which one, you will need to know which one is controlled by the switch on the wall. You could just pick one and see if it works. If it does not, then try the other wire. Do not use the cheap crappy wirenut connectors that usually come with these fixtures. Go to the hardware store and buy a pack of tan wirenuts (red will work if necessary.)
Q:I have a Speedaire 4B234 its currently wire to 120V but keep flipping the breaker and I have a 240V in the garage so I want to wire it to that. I have 2 blue wires, 2 red wire, and 2 green wires but the green wires are hooked together. One blue wire goes to Line and the other to Motor and same thing with the red wires.
Go to any store that sells them and look at the manual. Better still, Google for the manual.
Q:how do I wire the generator so it can spin 360 on the pole with out snapping the wires.... Thanks
You need some ring contacts and brushes that will be touching those rings that will be spinning while the generator does to complete a circuit without twisting wires. Make sure you get the right size rings and wire for the amount of current
Q:I moved into a home with pre-wired speakers. There is a bundle of speaker wire coming out of the wall. Each wire has 4 colors of other wire coming out of it. There are a total of 7 main wires (with four wires each) and a total of 9 speakers.
4 conductor wire has a few neat uses. 1 is to bi-wire your speakers. Meaning that if the speaker has 2 red and 2 black terminals then remove the bridge and run the cables to the posts separately thus increasing surface conduction and increasing output and sound quality. Also if you are running cables in the wall to 2 speakers that are near each other or to a single stereo speaker then you don't have to run 2 separate 2-conductor wires. This would also be true if you are running to a second zone using an in wall volume control. If this is the only wire you have for a standard speaker connection it won't hurt to twist them together at both end (pos with pos/ neg with neg) and serves the same purpose as using thicker cables.
Q:DO i TWIST THE WHITE AND RED SMALL WIRES TOGETHER UNDER THE WIRE NUTS ON AC WIRING TO THE CONDENSER?
The wires you describe control the relay that starts the AC unit. The main power wires are heavy duty (black and red if this is a 220 volt unit). The light guage wires are low voltage AC and connect to the thermostat. DO NOT joint the red and white wires. There will be a terminal for the red wire. You will have to find out which one it is. Try to get the wiring diagram for your unit from the Internet or call a service professional.
Q:Replaced the old fan in my bathroom (about 10 years old) with a new fan. Trouble is this. The fan and light each work on a seperate bathroom switch. I have two spots to install the wire on the new bathroom fan/light. One for the fan and one for the ligth. However, the wiring has one white, one black, one red and the ground. Anyone know what the red is? Can I just cap it off? According the bathroom fan wiring it says something about connecting red to blue. I am slighty confused. I think it was originally only wired between the white and black. I am not sure if I have to get some extra wire and connect the black and red to the light and the white to the fan? Extra wire is confusing.
the black is one switch leg and the red is the other switch leg connect black to fan and red to light and ground the green or bare wire it will work just fine and connect white to white neutral
Q:when we connect the amp wire to the car battery we first remove the negative side then connect the amp wire to the negative side and reconnect the negative battery wire thing. is this correct?
