Q:How do plastic sheets handle bending without breaking?
Plastic sheets handle bending without breaking due to their flexibility and ability to undergo elastic deformation. The molecular structure of plastics allows them to stretch and bend to a certain extent before returning to their original shape, making them more resistant to breaking or cracking compared to rigid materials like glass or ceramics.
Q:i want to make prints on sheets like the kind used on MTG life counters. i have a website on the bottom to show what im talking about. where do i get this plastic sheets from and how do i print on them?
There used to be a plastic material you could buy that you can run thru an inkjet printer. I found it at a computer show. Maybe a photo store would have it.
Q:I admit I haven’t seen these in years and I'm not sure I’m even using the right term. The only slide shows I’ve seen or made in the past 7 years were Power Point ones. But several years ago I remember these clear plastic sheets that could be printed on with my simple, cheap, disposable printer (a Lexmark that came free with my PC).I have a little 3 in 1 Inkjet (Epson Stylus CX4800) and I want to be able to print on thin sheets of plastic. QUESTIONSDo they still sell those sheets? What are they called?Who sells them?Do you think they would work in an Inkjet or would I need to find someone with a Laser or other type of printer? Thanks
They are called overhead transparencies like the previous posts say. Make sure you find the one that says for inkjet printers if you are going to use an inkjet. The bad thing is, less and less people are manufacturing them so they are pretty expensive now compared to 4 or 5 years ago. I was shopping for some a few months ago and whoa, the price tripled from before. Anyhow good luck, STAPLES, Office Max, Office Depot. Walmart and Target used to sell em, but not anymore.
Q:Are plastic sheets resistant to chemicals?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to chemicals.
Q:Behr has special paint, can this be done with other paint?
Yeah. You put whichever color you want as your base coat down. And then crinkle up the plastic sheeting into a wad, dip it lightly into the other color you hadn't used previously, dab it off on something so there is a real light coating (i.e. no clumps) and then lightly tap it onto the wall making sure to keep the coverage even. You can go over this again too if you have a third color you want to play with.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for DIY hydroponic systems?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for DIY hydroponic systems. They can be easily shaped and molded to create a variety of structures, such as grow beds, channels, or reservoirs. Plastic sheets are durable, lightweight, and can be cost-effective, making them a popular choice for DIY hydroponics. Additionally, they are also resistant to water and can help retain moisture within the system.
Q:Can plastic sheets be used for partitions?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for partitions. They are lightweight, durable, and easy to install, making them a cost-effective option for creating temporary or permanent partitions in various settings such as offices, hospitals, or homes. Plastic sheets also offer the advantage of being transparent or translucent, allowing for natural light to pass through while maintaining privacy.
Q:im trying to make a plexiglass longboard skateboard out of plexiglass
I would recommend using a polycarbonate like Lexan or Hyzod instead of acrylic resin products like Plexiglas. They are considerably stronger, yet easier to work with. I think a 3/4 inch thickness would be lots if you went with Lexan, but at 4 feet long, any plastic sheet is going to be bouncy (Plexi will snap). You might have to edge it with something rigid to fix that. Usually anything over 1/4 inch (~6mm) is special order, but you never know, a local sign shop or glass shop might have some cutoff for you.
Q:Can you please show me how to solve this problem
Hi 30 = 2.5 Ft (75 Yards, 3Ft. per yard) 3 x 75)= 225 therefore 2.5' x 225= 562.5sqFT
Q:I was shopping around online and found this product that they call a dust jacket protector. But I was wondering what store like Wal-Mart or Target could I buy something similar to the dust jacket protector AND what would that be called?
It is called a drop cloth. They come in different weights of plastic. For a dust jacket you would want a fairly heavy (thick) one. Wal-mart has some as do MOST paint stores.
