- If it is being sold to cut up, I wonder if it would make any difference to clean first. And, if it might have some value, do some research first, to make sure that your cleaning method doesn't actually lower that value.
- Q: I sopped it up with paper towels... should I do more? Will it ruin the carpet? Also, I'm getting a new puppy tomorrow... I don't want the nail polish remover in the carpet to poison it if he licks the carpet...
- I would suggest renting a carpet washer to clean up any excess. Polish remover does evaporate though, so you may notice a lot more of the smell in the air as it does if you don't clean the carpet. Polish remover - especially acetone polish remover - is a solvent and if the carpet is synthetic, it may cause it to break down and melt, though you'd probably have noticed that effect already. I know that it will dissolve certain finishes on wood surfaces though...
- Q: So, I m moving to an apartment that has totally outdated carpet. I want to change it, but obviously I can t being that it is an apartment I m renting. Are there any other options, other than buying a giant rug? Also, what are carpet tiles? I ve heard that they re cheaper than actual carpet, but do they require installation? Are they permanent? DIY people, help!!

- Q: How can I get dried nail polish out of my carpet?
- What color is the carpet? When we moved into our apartment there used to be an overly darkish brown stain within the center of the purple carpet. We'd had the carpets wiped clean however it remained. I obtained a few bleach and a purple Chux (I do not know whether or not you will have this product in which you're however this can be a feel cleansing fabric). The bleach eliminated the stain out of the carpet and the purple from the Chux used to be transferred to the carpet. You can no longer inform in any respect in which the stain used to be.
- Q: My parents bought a 5 x 7 area rug about 20 years ago, at K-Mart or somewhere abouts, and bequeathed it to me when I moved out. The colors are still really nice, but the problem is- and I suspect this has always been the case- its a bear to get clean. I don't mind a few spots, but it collects hair like mad. Its a very tight-woven rug, with no long strands. I run my Dirt Devil upright over it usually three or four times, and nothing budges. Is there a vacuum cleaner that is powerful enough to disentange hair from the carpet fibers? I really don't want to throw it out or store it, but I can't afford to have it professionally cleaned, at $100 a go, every month.

- Q: I need to shampoo my carpets but I want the best results possible. I know that the rug doctor is a commercial rug shampooer but do you think it has the same results as a professional coming in to clean them or would I get the same reults doing it myself?
- I purchased a Bissell steam cleaner a few years ago. It works extremely well. I only use Resolve rug cleaner in it even though the directions say to only use Bissell products. I've used the rug doctor in the past and my cleaner works at least as well.
- Q: I spilled some coffee on the carpet and nothing seems to take it out at the moment. Do you have any ideas?
- Preen carpet stain remover ~ you just spray it on, leave it for about 1 minutes and then use a dry cloth and using a circular movement rub gently on the stain and it should come off ~ good luck :)
- Q: I bought a kitchen rug from Jcpenny's last year some time and it is dirty now and doesn't look nice, so I was wondering how often do you have to replace kitchen rugs?

- The best place I can think of right now to look would be on OKorder.......they seem to have anything a person could want. By the way I used to watch that show quite abit with the first kids I babysat for 14 years.....now that they are grown I watch it with the two I take care of now. My favorite character being Granny.
