- Q:about 2 weeks ago, i got a new longboard, a sector 9 player. I ride it around almost everyday. I noticed that the bearings are turning black. Does this mean i need to clean them? Also, they are abec 5 bearings. I want my longboard to ride fast and a long distance without having to push so much. Should i replace them with better ones? i heard bone reds r good.

- Q:My two front wheels on my skateboard randomly lock up. You know how you're suppose to leave a little wiggle room when you tighten the nut? Well after a few minutes of skating the wiggle room is gone and it's like I tightened down my bolt all the way. There's nothing wrong with my nut and my bearings are bones swiss and my wheels are bones stf 54mm. This is so strange. I've even rotated the wheels and bearings out from back to front and once again it's my front two wheels. It's beyond me. Please help!
- If you aren't using speed ring, use them. Replace axle nuts. Could be bearing migration from excess bearing lube. Remove bearings and wipe outer race with denatured alcohol. Wash the wheels with dish soap and water. Make sure to wash the bearing seats. Dry before placing the bearings back in. If it happens only on one side but not the other, it's axle slip. Send trucks back to manufacturer.
- Q:Car was making grinding noise while moving. Replaced both wheel bearings and the noise went away. Drove car for 2 days then suddenly on the highway the noise comes back. - I would recommend that you get a chilton or haynes manual from a parts store. They will have a detailed proceedure for exactly how to do this. It may be that you failed to grease pack the bearings correctly.
- Q:I have a 1990 240sx that has an Sr20det motor. I was driving home one day and about 15 minutes from home my engine started sounding like marbles. When I got home after only 15 minutes of it sounding like that I turned it off and removed the oil pan and there were definitely pieces of rod bearing in it. My question is, after driving for only 15 minutes home, could it have more damage than just the bearings?
