- I have seen many projects where people have bought wood stripper. And they all look the same ...unfinished. What you see on TV is not quite what happens in real life. Oh sure it works good on flat surfaces.But almost all wood projects have corners and nooks and crannies. This places are hard to get to and have excess paint in them making it harder to remove it all.I do believe in most of the commercials I have seen on TV I would swear the piece of wood they were stripping had just been freshly varnished then painted which makes the paint come off even easier since the surface is new with no scratches or dents for the paint to sink into which also makes it time consuming and difficult to remove. Good luck and don't feel bad if you give up like everyone else and paint your project half way through.

- Q: Need some help with placement. How far from the back wall do you place recessed lights? I think I have them spaced right just unsure of how far back. My vanity counter will be 73.5" long. Installing (3) 3" 50 watt lights over the vanity. I pretty much decided to put one light on center 36.75" from side wall and the other two 18" to each side. Does that sound good? But, how far from the back wall? I would like the light to wash down the wall and reflect the light as well. I know I will need to find some other wall sconce lights for around the mirror but would like to make correct decision on the recessed for now
- You haven't stated if the lights you are using are directional or not...I don't know the placement and would guess maybe the same as kitchen lighting which would put them just behind the counter..I am not sure..they might be better over the vanity more though because of shadows..check with an electrician for placement..I don't have this in my bathrooms..just one over the tub and in the showers, with a regular ceiling light and vanity lights. Can't say I have seen this.
- Q: I just primed my laminate bathroom vanity with Zinsser Bondz. Do I need to sand prior to applying my finish coats of paint? The back of the can says dries in 2 hours and can be lightly sanded/and or top coated after 2 hours. This is confusing! Lightly sand or not? Thanks in advance for any help!
- It means that if you are satisfied with the smoothness of the primer coat then you can apply your finish coat. If it feels rough to you then it is okay to lightly sand it, wipe it clean and then apply your top coat. Pretty straight forward directions.
- Q: Due to a burst water pipe, our bathroom is being redone. Hubby found a new shower fixture in chrome, so we want to change all of our fixtures to chrome from the "gold" they were. We will be replacing the vanity top with a whitish top and floor with a whitish floor. No patterns picked out yet. We want to repaint with a whiter color (rather than the cream color currently) and need to replace vanity. I have found a light oak vanity that I like. - Q: The developer used a kitchen cabinet for the vanity in the bathroom. It's really big and has lots of storage but It's kind of deep, which means you can't get really close to the mirror and has no drawer space, but I can deal with that. Problem is it's counter height and he installed an above counter faucet. I'm 5'5" and it's tough for me to use. Any ideas on how to fix? Get a recessed sink installed. The countertop is granite...
