- Angel m above is right, measure twice and cut once. The biggest mistake I've seen is not aligning the existing plumbing, sink bowl and faucets first. You can adapt almost any type of dresser to become a vanity, but it takes some woodworking skills to do a professional looking job. The ones that lend themselves best are the type that don't have drawers all of the way down the front because they don't accommodate the plumbing well and you have to do some redesigning on the drawers to make it look right and have the plumbing align correctly. - Brushed nickle works properly with chrome. I surely have chrome bath furniture, yet opted for the vintage bronze lights. Figured over the years i could exchange out the cheapie chrome stuff. i do no longer even pay interest to the incontrovertible fact that they are diverse and issues like that often stick out like a sore thumb to me. I surely have shiney brass door knobs interior the homestead, too. And, someway all of it works.
- Q: I have a bathroom vanity that I want to update without painting. It is an inexpensive pine stained dark cherry. I cant replace it because all the tile work is very nice and expensive. I have no clue why the former owners didnt replace this vanity at the time that they updated the rest of the room. If you have any ideas that dont include painting or restaining ..thanks
- New hardware, new glass doors, updated mirror, painting the walls around it can make it look very different. Changing the sink or faucet. Not painting, but maybe just enhance the wood with a wood cleaning treatment. Not sure what condition the wood is in, but you can cover little boo boos by using a wood marker, they do wonders... Good Luck... if all else fails, painting is the cheapest way to completely change a look!!
- Q: I have a long bathroom vanity with a 30" wide X 25"high X 18" deep space underneath which is not utilized. It is just open space. There are cabinet doors on the other side beneath the sink. I was hoping to put some wicker/rattan storage drawers in that space to hold my girls hair accessories, etc. I want to put something that looks nice, but that is not expensive. - Q: I was taking off a bathroom vanity light and the wires came undone.Usually, it is just a black to black, a white to white and a ground to hook up the light...but when I looked at the wires...There is a white wire coming out of the wall above the sink where I am going to put it ing out of the white wire istwo black wires caped together.two white wires caped together and one red wire caped by itself.When I hook the black and white wires on the light to the black and white wires on the wall...the light turns on, but then the wall switch will not turn off.Does anyone know how to wire this light with this wire configuration?
