Q: I've had my subs wired up for a while but want to see if there is a more efficient way to do it. Hardware: Sony Xplod 800w amp bridgeable amp - What's the best way to wire these up to get the most volume?: wire the voice coils to series on each sub and then wire the subs in parallel to the amp and voila.

Q: Got a new kenwood stereo to replace the old kenwood one in my VW polo 1998. Workes fine but when I pushed the stereo into my dashboard a wire came out so I pulled it out and put it back in. Does anyone have a diagram or picture of how it should be wired?: When you wired it did you butcher the wires or use a wiring harness? With the wiring harness, everything is labeled and color coded. Match colors to the kenwood wiring harness, splice or use butt connectors, plug harness into factory harness and player, attach antenna wire and you're done! If you did butcher the wires and left enough wire, repair the harness and buy a harness kit at your local sound shop, really cheap too! Good luck!

Q: I hooked up my Klipsch floor speakers with the old-cheapy wire and then bought, I think it was monster cable, and bi wired it. Big sound improvement. But I've heard pros and cons on monster cable. I have three zones to wire in my house. If I bi wire the other two zones what's the best wire to get? You can spend a small fortune on wire. If I bi wire, zone 2 would be 30 feet x 4 and zone 3 50 feet x 4. I read that if one of the wires is silver it's better as silver's the best conductor. This I knew already. But, when I bought the wire that I did, it didn't state anywhere on the label that it contained silver and I think that would be a drawing point. In fact, I didn't see any wire at that store that said it was part silver and it wasn't Walmart but a major electronics store. I did see some that had silver colored strains but so is steel and aluminum. I also read on another forum that CAT 5 wire works well for bi wiring? Thoughts? Opinion?: They colour the wire by plating it. The silver is one conductor colour and the other wire is copper colour. Separate strands. This is so that you can keep the polarity straight when you are hooking up your system. You will also notice a raised ridge on the insulation of on conductor in two conductor wiring. Again it is a mark to let you tell the + from the - wires. Silver wire would be a good conductor, but much more expensive than copper and about equal in current flow. It would also corrode more and make for connection problems.

Q: I have a minivan with a flat 5 pin wiring connecter at back. We bought an old utility trailer with no wiring. It has the two rear lights, one on each side with 2 wires sticking out of each. We got the flat 5 pin trailer connector to connect to the van and bought a long piece of cable which has the white, brown, green and yellow wires in it. Where do I connect what? Q: The spark plug wire on my dirt bike needs to be replaced because it was touching the exhaust and it burned through.I was wondering if the ignition coil and spark plug wire are one piece and need to both be replaced or is there someway to disconnect spark plug wire? They spark plug wire doesn't seem to be pluged in, but it seems to be one piece. Does anyone know?: Many small coils on dirt bikes, small engines and scooters have the spark plug wire pressed and glued into coil- usually replace coil and wire together as plug wire basicly not replacable in field.. Aftermarket coils can be used with seperate wire or maybe use a car coil from VW beetle type or in couiple cases i know plain Ford patterns. BMW /5 had 2 Bosch coils with replaceable wires- what kind of bike you working with. Clamp car coil to front frame, run extended wire loom to coil, use metal core spark plug wire and marine plug cap- used to be common or 2 stroke racers. In emergency you can cut wire cored wires and splice in another piece, tape it up .
