Q:How to choose carpet size?
Conventional laying, the general living room is not very large, you can choose 1.4*2 or 1.6*2.3 laying to the bottom of the sofa about 2-5 cm, it is recommended to just laying foot on the sofa
Q:I spilled a lot of dr pepper on my carpet. I cant use vinegar or wine. just water paper towels clorox wipes and other basic stuff I need help fast
Try okorder for home solutions to remove soda stains from white carpet. You may already have something at home that will work. Be careful on other carpet stain removers because some contain bleach and could ruin your carpet. Good luck!
Q:I am having someone put in carpet tiles in a house and we have the carpet pad to go underneith. Does it go, Carpet pad, glue, and then carpet tiles? What should I tell them?
I've never heard of any one putting carpet pad down before applying carpet tiles. I have seen them install regular carpet they always glue the pad down place the carpet on top of that. If you don't get a better answer to your question I would call Home Depot ask them. I did find the instructions below for installing carpet tiles but no mention of carpet pad. DIRECT STICK CARPET TILES The carpet tiles are adhered to the sub floor using Roberts 656 Carpet Tile Double Bond Underlay Adhesive. The sub floor should first be primed with Roberts 370 Floor Wall Primer prior to the application of the carpet tile adhesive. If the carpet tile is laid into a wet film of adhesive it forms an almost permanent bond between the carpet tile and sub floor. The carpet tiles may also be laid into the adhesive when it has dried to a clear tacky film allowing them to be more easily removed if repairs or replacement is required.
Q:is it easier to vacuum the industrial carpet than regular carpet. I plan to replace my regular carpet with industrail, because it is hard to push the vacuum and we have lots of dust. thanks.
Maybe you just need a self propelled vacuum instead. Granted, old carpets are notoriously dusty as they fall apart.....the backing degrades, etc. If you plan on being in the home for awhile and like the look of industrial, fine, but many prospective homeowners will be put off. The plush home carpet is much preferred. I've had the short pile carpeting in family rooms and liked it for resisting traffic, but didn't find it any better for stain removal. Also it was glued down and the stink was horrible for awhile. Hopefully they have low VOC adhesives now. A lot of water/staining wasn't good as the carpeting couldn't be lifted to dry, hence more prone to mold.....thinking back to when kitchens were carpeted. I fully understand where you are coming from, hallways are my nemesis for wear and dirt/stains. I too have (and continue to) think about industrial just in that area. Maybe you just need a shorter pile, but not as short as industrial. I'd also study up on the different type fibers and their wearability.
Q:I have dried set in pet stains on my carpet (old and new) does any one know of any over the counter carpet cleaners i can get that does not have to be rubbed or scrubbed in? looking for something I can spray on let dry then vac I am unable to get down and scrub and rub
You really can't afford to replace the carpet or put in a new easy-to-clean flooring like wood? Don't you want to start out life in your new home with a clean, new flooring that nobody but you touched? Could you at least do some research and price some of the options to see what you can afford? Your word ruined tells me that this is not just a minor spot here and there. There may also be old stains that you can't even see. Doesn't it turn you off just a wee bit to think of living on carpet saturated with excrement? If you really can't or won't replace the carpeting, you will still have to spend some money by calling in a good, reliable professional carpet cleaner. Believe me, just shpritzing a stain remover here and there will not do the trick.
Q:I want to pull up the carpet in my house. The carpet now is the cheapest they make...I believe. I bought the house 1 1/2 years ago and have been waiting until now to do it. What do I need to know before I open this can of worms
It's easy. Since it's usually ripped up the same day the new carpet goes in, you need to have a broom handy. The carpet installers don't mind the dust. Keep a tube of caulk nearby. It's a great time to spread a bead of caulk into any cracks in the cement floor. The cracks can allow insects in if they get too big.
Q:Would it not look good if I got the duvet and curtains in pink and got a pink rug? does pink go with aqua? any other suggestions? By the way, my furniture is tan.ThanksAnna
I'll assume you mean wall-to-wall carpeting. You might look at a grey rug, maybe a medium to light grey. Not necessarily very exciting, perhaps, but I suggest that because carpet is hard to change. Once it's in, it's probably going to stay in for a while. Paint colour is relatively simple to change, and grey goes with many colours. Pink can go with aqua as long as you choose the right shades of both. It would have a sort of tropical feel to it and would look best with other colours that are light and bright. Tan is not going to go too well with pink, probably, but has a better chance of looking okay with aqua. Wouldn't be my first choice of a colour combo but could be all right. Grey would go well with tan and aqua.
Q:There is this rug I love but I just looked at the materials and it said 100% latex backing. I am allergic to latex. Can I use this rug? Or every time I step on it will it bother me?
Not sure if it will bother you but you need to consider that latex backed rugs can discolor the flooring underneath of them. It might be better to choose a non-latex backed rug.
Q:I have a rug in my inside hallway. I'm wondering how I should wash in washing machine? It's a tight knit rug like berber.
big tumble washer or hang it on a line, apply soap and hose it down?
Q:i am a 14 year old girl and i want to make my room bright and fun, but i have white carpet on my floor would it look okay to put a green rug on the carpet? yes or no. PLEASE HELP!
Yes. it's fine. I would avoid rugs with complicated patterns. Either a solid green or simple geometric shapes would be just fine. Put a couple of the throw pillows on your bed or change your pillow cases that match the rug.
