- No. You can make an argument that some body type may find it easier, but to say a particular style of martial art is only for one body type (tall skinny) is ridiculous. My White Crane teacher was barely 5'5 and thin, and he had no problem whipping my classmates who are in the 6' height range. Don't worry about your size. Forget the video and find a teacher. Crane is good, but so is any style that is taught by a good instructor. Besides, you are 15 and still have at least 5 more years of growth. If you start now, by the time you reach your max height, you will have been training at least 5 years and I'll bet anything your height is not going to be a concern for you.
