Q:I have some cement cracks and i was wondering how to fix it. any sugsetions?
You didn't say if the where vertical or horizontal. The best way is to clean the crack out and use either a vinyl cement or hydraulic cement. Both can be found at a Menard's or other local hardware store.
Q:or can i just start laying it directly on top of the cement floor?
woodtick gave you exactly the right answer,,, existing cracks in your slab WILL transfer through the tile work fairly quickly.
Q:I accidentally put my foot inside a wet cement container. Then, I fell asleep.....and when I woke up.....My foot is stuck to the container. I am not sure what to do? Should I drill the cement with a screwdriver to dig through or what?
Hi George Time to meet the lovely folks of you local EMS. Call 911. Don't be embarrassed. They have seem much odder things cased in cement. There can be some serious complications for your foot if you don't get it taken care of quickly. And it is not something you take care of by yourself. You can have serious compromising of the circulation in your foot, both blood vessels and lymph system that can lead to nerve damage, loosing a toe or two.....or your foot.
Q:how to set up a cement slab?
with wood stakes and nails a level or laser string line sledge hammer. Need more info to help
Q:Need to remove cement like glue from painted metal. Any house hold items i can use or do i have to buy a glue remover. i.e. rubbing alcohol , cleaners ect. Thanks
You cant do that because cemert dries really hard so if you jack hammer i suggust not to do because it drys really hard
Q:How a cement solution is prepared;;what is effect of quick setting of cement;;?
cement is an ingredient in concrete. It sets with the chemical reaction of Calcium carbonate (limestone) and water to form a hard substance.
Q:and what is their #Basically, in out rental house, it looks like the guy dumped a bucket of motor oil on the garage floor and then used the oil to paint a section of the floor. And his car dripped everywhere on the other half of the garage. So now the while garage has drips of oil everywhere and looks kind of like the black parts of this freeway. And to make matters worse, it is totally soaked in to the cement.
if you want to clean it your self youneed to sprinkel tide soap all over the oil areas when it starts soaking the oil in the soap take a plactic brush and brush the soap around till the soap is dark then sweep it off and do the same process only with the soap a little wet with water kinda pasty with the plactic brush then rinse with a hose if possable when it is dry the oil will be gone, hope this helps.
Q:What is water cement ratio?
For 1m^2 of 280 Kg/cm^2 Design Concrete I have used: 8 bags of Concrete 0.4 m^2 3-4 stone 0.4 m^2 washed fine aggregated (sand) 280 liters water Some times I got up to 300 Kg/cm^2, some times 260 Kg/cm^2 tested Concrete, most of the time resistance was better when it was vibrated for long periods and hydrated copiously the first week, without accelerants. Using too much water will result in a poor concrete. Using to little will reduce fluidity when pouring and may produce porosity.
Q:include social, environment and economical factors
social: Not always the most attractive looking material. Some concretes and cements create a gloomy and depressing atmosphere. Environmental: Concrete and cement release green house gases. Concrete/cement footpaths over up natural soils and leave less room for trees to be planted and less natural earth for insects to live in. Economic: Expensive to remove and dump. In some cases, some cement foundations are so deep they are impossible to remove, meaning the land they're on cannot be used for much else, decreasing the land resources in the economy
Q:hey im zack and im reseachin portland cement u think u guys help me i want to find out what is it and how its used? THANKS 4 UR HELP AND TIME
It's the most common form of cement and made from concrete, mortar, stucco and grout. It was developed in England and the result was thought of as being comparable with Portland limestone, an oft used building stone obtained from the south coast in Dorset. Thar's what it's named after.
