Q: I read about the Tesla electric car.
The fuel cells are too heavy, so far, for such a vehicle to be competitive.
Q: Aluminum has no hazards, does not need to be compressed(extra energy), and is a great capacitor of energy.
because hydrogen is generated from water, which is very abundant. there is enough energy in hyrodgen in water, that a car can travel about 50 miles on about 4 ounces of water, and emit no known pollutants.
Q: and also what are fuel cells?
In a flame of pure hydrogen gas, burning in air, the hydrogen (H2) reacts with oxygen (O2) to form water (H2O) and heat. It does not produce other chemical by-products, except for a small amount of nitrogen oxides. Hence a key feature of hydrogen as a fuel is that it is relatively non-polluting (since water is not a pollutant). Pure hydrogen does not occur naturally; it takes energy to manufacture it. Once manufactured it is an energy carrier (i.e. a store for energy first generated by other means). The energy is eventually delivered as heat when the hydrogen is burned. The heat in a hydrogen flame is a radiant emission from the newly formed water molecules. The water molecules are in an excited state on initial formation and then transition to a ground state, the transition unleashing thermal radiation. When burning in air, the temperature is roughly 2000°C. Hydrogen fuel can provide motive power for cars, boats and aeroplanes, portable fuel cell applications or stationary fuel cell applications, which can power an electric motor. A fuel cell is an electrochemical cell that converts energy from a fuel into electrical energy. Electricity is generated from the reaction between a fuel supply and an oxidizing agent. The reactants flow into the cell, and the reaction products flow out of it, while the electrolyte remains within it. Fuel cells can operate continuously as long as the necessary reactant and oxidant flows are maintained.
Q: As a twelfth grader, we have to work on a senior project.I really wanna work with fuel cells, and research them. Researching is the easy part, but I'm having problems finding a project that relates to fuel cells and are suitable for my limited experience as a high school student.Any ideas for projects?
Any good with designing machines? Perhaps you could use a fuel cell to power a motor for a bicycle. If you know where to get a decent motor, or if you know how to build one (look a few up on the internet, you can find some good ones), then it shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to hook one up to a bike.
Q: Im doing a project in science and i need to answer some questions on hydrogen fuel cells and i cant find the answers for themthe questions are-where it comes from?-is this a cost effective resource?-is it environmentally friendly?and thats allanswer if u know any of these plz!! thanks
answering from the third one this fuel cell is not at all an eco friendly one as it involves the generation of air polluting gases like CO due to the burning of hydrocarbons in generating the H2gas secondly it is not at all a cost effective resource because of the cost of the electrodes and this rates it far costlier than the gasoline based energy resource as for the first answer i am not quite sure
Q: If we went to an alternative fuel of specifically a fuel cell that uses water, how would the govenment tax it to pay for roads and what not? Where I live, the cost of off road diesel $1.00 less per gallon because it isn't taxed. How would the government make that money up if we could just go to any water source and fill up? How will the make up the hundreds of millions of dollars they'd lose? I don't think a dollar per gallon tax on water would work because its also a neccessity to live. Do you think not being able to get around the tax issues has limited the governments involvement in finding alternative fuels? I know theres been government fuel cell projects going on since the 80s, but its hard to believe nothing practical has come out of it yet.
Fuel cells do not use water, they make water from hydrogen gas or a hydrocarbon. Those fuels can be taxed as easily as any currently popular fuel.
Q: I am trying to get the plans fora HHO generator.Preferably a .pdf fileor something like that. Also, if you have ever used this sortof fuel cell, let me know what youthink of it.
the FTC has confiscated hundreds of plans ask them. Make sure you tell them its for a news article, manufacturing and sale of these fraudulent systems are punishable. HHO doesn't exist, IUPAC is the world organization the names all chemicals, they have never heard of HHO. A H2 fuel cell combines H2 gas with O2 to make electricity. They are very complicated and require thousands of dollars of platinium.
Q: does anyone know the average internal resistance of an alkaline fuel cell. Thanks for answering ;))
Cannot determine without first knowing the wattage of fuel cell. Use this formula to calculate a single fuel cell: I w / 0.75 R 0.75 / I
Q: how does a hydrogen fuel cell work more specifically, how does the anode difuse the hydrogen atom into protons and electronsplz don't use wikipedia i found something there, but it isn't any use
okorder
Q: Does that make any sense?? I don't have millions to spend on gas.I want one!!
Yes!!! It seems kind of silly, doesnt it!!! We cant afford the gas,so how are we supposed to afford the fuel efficiant cars!!
The company has the intellectual property rights and key technology on several projects such as: hydrogen scale producing, photo catalysis environmental cleaning, solar cell of new generation, low-cost proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC), low-cost and high efficiency LED white light illuminator. .
