Q:Just got brand new carpet a couple of days ago and i have spilt dark green nail polish on light brown carpet, if my mum see's it she will go mental! how can i get rid? :): You better just fess up to your mom. Using the wrong product can damage the carpet even worse. A carpet installer can actually cur a small piece out and replace it with new.

Q:My puppy decided to chew the carpet going from my living room into my kitchen (which is laminate). Unfortunately, my attempts thus far have just made things worse. I was trying to put a transition piece in, but could not get it to stick since beneath the carpet is just concrete. My lease is up in 3 weeks and I'm getting a bit panicked. I read online that you can take a piece of carpet from a closet and use that piece to seam to ripped carpet, then grab some similar carpet from the store to replace the closet area. Any suggestions to make this process go easier? I think I just need a tack strip and some special tape that I get from lowes. Any other suggestions?: to repair your carpet, you will need a carpet knife,level or square to guide your cutting.,double sided carpet tape, tape measure, first measure out the area you need, make sure it is prepped by squaring the area off, in a corner in the closet remove a section needed for your repair job. sweep or vac the area, place your double tape down,place your carpet on top and if you have a rolling pin, roll over the carpet to make it lay down and seal to the tape. you can pick up same carpets and replace the one in the closet.

Q:What color of the carpet is good?: Will be too close to the coffee table. If the color of the carpet is too light and it's between the tea table and the sofa, don't choose hard carpet, it's not good.

Q:is there anything people can suggest to get an odour out of an area rug... it says specifially that I can't shampoo it so thats out.I can try febreeze but that always seems to just mask the odour it doesn't actually get rid of it.I think the odour itself stems from our vacuum, it needs replacing but until then I need to figure out a work around for this smelly rug as my infant usually has his play blanket ontop of it and has tummy time on there so I really don't want it to smell anymore.1. Q:I ordered an area rug online but the dimensions are a little off...I'm wondering if I can just cut it to make it fit? If so, how would I go about doing this so that it will cut evenly and all the way through (what kinds of tools, etc could I use)? Also, any suggestions on how I can keep the ends from fraying after its cut? Thanks so much!!: First call your area flooring store s and ask if they do or have access to some one that binds area rugs, most do. Once a place is found you have a choice of cutting the rug your self or they ll do it. If you want to do it, all you need it a straight edge and a new blade in a utility knife. Turn the rug over and cut from the back, placing the straight edge where you want it and cut along it. Make sure your cutting over something that won t either dull the knife or you cut something that is under the rug. The new binding may or may not match, if the place has access to binding, they ll have a color chart. Plus they ll be able to tell you if its bound or surged , which costs more.
