Q: He is currently incarcerated at SCI Camp Hill, PA, awaiting reclassification to a quot;Homequot; facility. Getting him a subscription should wait until he's transferred to whatever facility he is assigned to for the balance of his time to be served.
The address for inmates is as follows: SCI-Camp Hill P.O. Box 200 Camp Hill, PA 17001-4531 The PA state guidelines for incoming prison mail can be found here (PDF file). You will want to put his name on it, of course, along with any identification number he’s been assigned. Inmates and their correspondents have remarked, however, that it takes a very long time (a number of weeks) for mail to get in and out of Camp Hill. Since you only want to send one issue for now, it may be easiest to buy the issue and mail it in your own envelope, or buy it as a back issue from Home Garden and have them mail it - but that last one may be preferable if you can arrange it, because stuff sent from publishers (and not people who will sneak other stuff in with it) is looked upon more favorably. You could also try to have an individual book store mail one issue, if they are amenable. Generally, prisons are pretty OK with inmates getting mail, as long as it is decent - no pictures of naked people, or anything like that, which I can’t imagine would be a problem with Home Garden. Also, things like Soldier of Fortune would be prohibited. It may pay to call the mail room there and ask what Camp Hill’s specific regulations are; for example, if they have to come from the publisher. The general prison phone number there is (717)737-4531. I know in Michigan (where I live), mail is generally seen as a good thing, because it connects a prisoner to the outside world in a way that could be therapeutic. I also had no problems mailing a friend of mine who was incarcerated in North Carolina. However, rules vary, and it’s better to check and know than mail and hope. Here are some other good guidelines about the Camp Hill mailroom. Good luck!
Q: its a better homes and gardens full length mirror and comes with quot;easy to install hardware.quot; the hardware are two little triangle things hinged onto a square shaped part with a hole on the end. does that make sense? i guess one way to say it is that its shaped lke a little house, a square and triangle on top as the roof but the triangle is a hook and rather than a door there is a little circle which im assuming a nail goes. and it also came with two screws. my question is do i screw the nail and the little quot;housequot; into the mirror and then hang them on a nail on my wall?plese help i don't want to mess up the mirror
You hang a mirror just like you hang a picture. You screw your little triangle things on the sides of your mirror, hook a cable between them, and hook the cable to a hanger you've screwed into a stud of the wall.

Q: I was wondering if it was okay to grow something small to begin with, on a bed? not on the floor, because i have dogs, and i know they will get in my garden and becausue if i plant them on a bed it will be easier for me to take care of the plants. and easier for me to get rid of the insects. is it expensive to do this? or am i better of buying my own fruits and vegetables? I live in Los Angeles, CA in the city. and was wondering what would be the best time to plant. and finally are there any good books you recommend, and any tips? thank you for your time.
The biggest part of any good garden is the soil. I had a 16' X 24' raised bed garden. I bought an inexpensive home garden tiller (look up Mantis Home Garden Tiller online. I think mine was about $300), peat moss (to help the soil hold moisture), bagged manure to feed your plants, and an inexpensive book on gardening for beginners (go to the library and save some money on this). Get a small sample of the soil tested to check acidity level. Some veggies and fruits like acidic soil and other don't. Tomatoes are the best to grow in acidic soil. I used cinder blocks to frame the garden bed and got them at a Home Depot or a Lowe's.Plan out an area that you want to locate your garden bed. If you live in a condo or apartment, you can always do container gardening. I've been collecting kitty litter buckets to hold my garden soil since I'm living in an apartment and my yard area is only asphalt. I'm using about 24 kitty litter buckets that had held 35 pounds of kitty litter. Gardening is personally rewarding and fun. Living in RI, I have a shorter growing season than you. Does some online research to find out the earliest you can start planting in your area before you get started. I bought a book called Complete Guide to Vegetables, Fruits Herbs and it cost me about $12.76 at the time. Lots of fruits, berries and vegetables can be purchased as starter or cheater plants. Do you research, plan your area, work or till your soil (if you have a yard), chose your crop type, and have fun! Start small at first, you can always get bigger if you have the room and the money. They make special terracotta pots (either plastic or clay. I got a plastic one cheap.) that you can plant 12 strawberry plants in at one time. Strawberries are great and last year after year if you plant them in mounds in your yard. If you don't have a yard and just use a pot, you'll have to plant them every year (I think. I only planted them in a strawberry pot 1 time). Good Luck!
Q: Hi I'm trying to create a mini home garden of veggies like spinach, lettuce varieties, cherry tomatoes, basil chives ..etc. And some flowersMy little seedlings are growing well the have just germinated and are sproutingBut in some pots I didn't use pots with holes in the bottom simply because I didn't find any good ones is this going to affect my plants?! What can I do to get around it? I am worried about the nitrogen stacking up in the soilAnother thing is do u have any ideas for sprouts o leaves that are edible, a nice quick harvest and that can grow in small pots like beansprouts for example.. I can't seem to recall any names of these VeggiesI would appreciate any kind of hone gardening tips and Ideas so please feel free to elaborate or summarize, be creative or realistic I could use all and everything
Well, I always use pots with holes. Plants don't like wet feet, except they're pond plants. Use some base layer (gravels, or some crushed bricks) then put the soil. (not garden soil as they will turn firm and soggy, for beginners use ready to use soil based potting mix) For worrying about the nitrogen stuff, adding perlite to your soil are the solution, they will absorbs the nutrients and keep them inside the soil. Alfalfa sprouts are quick, they just like bean sprout. :)
Q: I am specifically looking for their swedish meatball recipe from the 70's. The newer Better Homes Gardens cookbooks have a different recipe. That old recipe is my mom's favorite, but we lost that recipe can't find it anywhere. I'm not sure if it matters but we used to have the paperback version of that cookbook.
I have a 1968 better homes and garden cookbook, so here is recipe.3/4 lb lean ground beef,1/2 lb ground veal, 1/4 lb ground pork, 1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs, 1 cup light cream, 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 egg, 1/4 cup finely snipped parsley, 1 1/4 teaspoon salt, dash pepper, dash ground ginger, dash ground nutmeg, 2 tablespoons butter, gravy. grind meats together twice. soak bread in cream about five minutes. cook onion in butter till tender. Mix meats, crumb misture, onion, egg, parsley, salt, pepper, ginger and nutmeg. Beat five minutes at medium speed with electric mixer or mix by hand until well combined. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls( mixture will be soft, for easier shaping, wet hands or chill mixture first) brown meatballs in 2 tablespooons butter. remove from skillet.. For gravy: melt 2 tabvlespoons butter in skillet with drippings. Stire in 2 tablespoons all purpose flour, . Add 1 beef bouillon cube dissolved in 1 1/4 cups boiling water and 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee powder. Cook and stir till gravy thinkens and bubbles, add meatballs, cover and cook slowly about 30 minutes , baste occasionally. makes 30 balls.
Q: 1. Urban garden in Massachusetts.2. Rural lot in New Hampshire.
I assume you mean Polygonum cuspidatum. This is a really obnoxious weed. I don't know other than to keep at it..destroying every piece of it constantly. Maybe chemicals may be the only way to get it under control..you might get some leads at this site www.invasivespeciesinfo /plant...

Q: the state of new mexico will allow medical marijuana to be legally grown by persons who qualify for it. federal law enforcement officials may still be able to arrest those who DO grow marijuana for possession.
More of a traffic control nightmare. Darn stuff grows as a weed in most of the Midwest. The whole thing got out of hand when J. Randolph Hearst bought up a bunch of forests on the west coast to be used for wood pulp. He thought that hemp would drive down the prices for the wood pulp so he had his lobbyists campaign against anything with THC in it. The amount of THC in hemp is negligible (otherwise you'd have sailors smoking rope) but they sold the idea on the false premise that Marijuana is a gateway drug. Marijuana does have a couple of things going against it. If you smoke for extended periods of time it tends to affect your short term memory, and it does burn hotter than tobacco. Most serious smokers know how to counteract both of these effects however and the documented medicinal uses far outweigh the risks, especially when the people most likely to benefit, cancer patients, aren't going to die from the marijuana in the first place and are likely to live longer from the increased appetite and reduced nausea, allowing the chemotherapy to be administered on schedule. there are also benefits for glaucoma patients, rare muscular ailments, as an aid to eliminating alcohol and drug dependence (how is that for some irony) and as a preventative for Atherosclerosis. Just as important
