- Q: I continue to see quot; Harry Home Owner quot; purchase these old time engineering garden tractors to merely mow their lawn, when the Zero Degree mower is far far superior and often less in the home owner category.
- The zero turn mowers that I have seen are a bit more expensive than a run of the mill lawn tractor. Some of what I mow is too rough for a zero turn girlie machine. I need the real thing. I also use mine to pull things around the place. Not everyone mows a golf course. There is also more stuff to maintain. when it quits steering you may wish you had an old school yard tractor.

- Q: I'm planting a good sized garden this summer, including squash, tomatoes, zucchini, radishs, green beans, cucumbers, bell peppers, jalepenos, canteloupes and watermelons. But I was hoping to add some more fruit. Does anybody have and ideas for some fruit that grows well in southeastern Oklahoma? Thanks.
- Check out this web site for some ideas. I personally planted Strawberries, they are doing very well, and come back nicely every year. I also planted a couple of blueberry bushes. I planted these last year and it was recommended to not allow them to bear fruit the first year. So the verdict is out on them. However, I have high hopes.
- Q: I heard something about being able to order Home and Garden Party products online. Has anyone else heard anything about that? I have ordered Home and Garden Party products before. They have some really nice candles and stoneware. Would like to hear from a designer.

- Q: Did brother Adam take his rib out to barbeque when he came back home from the garden?
- nah, i dont think so.
- Q: I have a large garden in my backyard that I am trying to cultivate. However the soil is very clay-like and hardens quickly like corn field dirt. Its too large to cover with miracle grow or anything and hand tilling it as well as keeping things alive in it is very hard. Any suggestions?
- Garden soil takes time to cultivate for the best results for your planting. Buy a soil test kit and test your soil. Your local garden center can help you determine what nutrients it is lacking (besides organic material). In the fall, start saving coffee grounds, peanut shells and shredded paper and throw it into your garden space to over winter. You can also add hay although I'm told you will have more weeds next Spring. In the Spring add organic compost and manure before planting. You may want to consider starting a compost pile. Compost is the best organic material for any soil. I've already spent four years cultivating my garden soil and this year I think it will be the best balanced I've ever had. It makes a big difference for plants.
- Q: I have found lots or wholesalers, or retailers claiming to be wholesalers, who will do dropshipping. I am looking to open an actual physical store but I don't know where to find good wholesalers or distributors. I live in Alberta Canada. Does anybody know how I can find wholesalers of quality products that will deliver in bulk? To get products in the US would probably cost too much in shipping which would eat up any profits.

- Q: I have a ground floor studio flat (999 years, share of freehold) which has exclusive use of the garden - a side gate to both the studio and the garden (about 40x40 feet) ensures this. The studio is at the rear of the house and adjoins the garden. There is a garden hut in the corner of the garden.I am thinking that a far more ambitious structure in the garden - such as a home office say 15x10 feet - would greatly expand the amenity of the studio. How likely would I be to secure permission to build - both from the local authoriity (Eastbourne) and from the other freeholders? Or do I even need permission?
- Talk to the council. Be aware that permitted development rights which apply to many common projects for houses do not apply to flats so planning permission is almost certainly required. There are usually specific restrictions on whether such structures include sleepng accommodation, and further planning limitations if the property is listed or in a conservation area. You will also need the freeholders consent - which I would guess is a separate company, no matter how long the lease - you should read the lease first to see if there are any prohibitions. How likely you are to receive consent depends how much garden is left, how close you are to neighbours and boundaries, etc and whether your neighbours (including other leaseholders) object to the Council. A good guide is to see if any neighbouring properties have managed to do it.
- Q: is there any online information regarding landscape/garden design? i'm trying to get as much info as possible regarding this subject, especially the latest design trend/image reference...etc.any help is appreciated.

- Q: is a home garden picked pumpkin, cooked then turned into pumpkin soup a good source of protein? if so, id like to know how much! ty :)
- Depends on what sort of protein you need. Vegetable sources of proteins are more limited than animal sources, and of those, beans and other legumes are the best source. Most gourds are not particularly good protein sources, more so for fiber, trace minerals and water-soluble vitamins such as C, B-series, E and A amongst others. And other than for flavor and (perhaps) fewer chemicals, garden vs. commercially grown pumpkins are virtually indistinguishable in nutrition content. One cup of whole pumpkin (a bit more than 8 ounces) will give you 9% of your protein requirements, you would need 11 cups and still be low in some of the essential amino acids. Pumpkin is below 2% protein. Some cheeses are over 50%. Some meats over 40%. Some beans and other vegetable sources will also meet or exceed those numbers - however it is harder (but not impossible) to get all the essential amino acids from vegetable sources alone.
