Q: I am starting a garden this fall with berry bushes and leafy greens. I have been doing a bunch of reasearch because I have never had a garden before and some of my plants are prone to bugs and fungus. I want my garden to be as organic as possible so I don't want chemical spray. Anyone know any good homemade concoctions I can make to help? Thanks =D
Fungi are encouraged by too much water and inadequate air circulation. Allow plenty of breathing room between plants and row. Put mulch down around the plants. We use newspapers (5-6 sheets thick) and composted grass clippings. Will act as a weed barrier AND keep the moisture in the soil and will offer some protection for the plants/veggies. Feed the birds, encourage them to live in your yard with food, water and places to live. Nearly all baby birds are fed on bugs and many species eat bugs right along with the seeds. And some only eat bugs. The more birds, the better! They will do the dirty work for you! And the link below will help you deal with issues as they come up.
Q: My wife and I have a spot all picked out for a new home I plan to build in a few years. We think it makes sense to purchase some home design software so we can begin to put together a floor plan for upstairs and downstairs. What simple easy to operate software is available to help us design and see what our home will look like?
First off, the term simple and easy to operate is different for each person. All of the CAD programs will require a lot of practice in order to become proficient. I suggest that you go to a store that sells software and talk to them about CAD, (computer aided design) software. Then maybe start looking on the internet. If you just want to see what is available google CAD and you will have lots of choices. Be careful, while they all claim to be user friendly, that is not usually the case. If you buy off the internet be sure to get one with full money back guarantee. A lot come with free 30 day trial, be ready to use the heck out of it for the first three weeks so you can decide if it is really the one for you.
Q: I wanted to purchase a subscription to Better Homes and Gardens as a gift for my mother. I could subscribe myself for $5.99, but when I choose the gift option it increases to $11. Does anyone know why this is? Or if there's anyway to get around it?
not sure
Q: Ive been thinking of subscribing to some magazines, I don't know much about gardening but I'd like to start one next spring, vegetables and flowers, and I'll prolly be planting some stuff this fall too (tulips! maybe other stuff too?) So some magazines with lots of information and tips would be nice. I was thinking of getting better homes and gardens, but I'm not sure, maybe that and another one.. Any suggestions?
Backyard okorder / This magazine has no advertisements. It has lots of great contests with small (wind chimes) and large (garden tractor) prizes. It also has lots of stories (funny and helpful) written by readers. Backyard Living's entire magazine is devoted to landscaping, planting, and gardening, while Better Homes and Gardens also features indoor decorating and cooking, as well as some self-improvement articles. It isn't as gardener-intense as Backyard Living. I am a landscaper/planter/gardener by hobby, and Backyard Living is a never throw away magazine! Another poster suggested Birds and Blooms. This is also an excellent no advertisement magazine; I believe it's published by the same folks that do Backyard Living and Taste of Home.

basically like with any motorized motor vehicle there are numerous factors to contemplate.... - finished weight of motor vehicle with passenger(s) - Gearing - Torque (this is quite a extra perfect thank you to gauge an engines power) - Rolling resistance - Aerodynamics So, given your information this is no longer particularly obtainable to confirm.

I certainly have tried almost each thing customary to mankind to maintain the critters out of my backyard. ultimately, I gave up and larger the size of my backyard so there is adequate for the two them and me. the only critter I nonetheless combat with is the deer and that i've got found that Liquid Fence stinks to extreme heaven, yet while utilized on a known foundation will save the deer out of the backyard.
