Q: My husband bought me the 14th limited edition Better Homes and Gardens book... and I've had alot of recipes not taste great. I have to alter them alot and then they're okay (FYI- I cook great, it's not me, its the recipes). Also I've found alot of errors with the index and page numbers. I was just wondering if Betty Crocker makes a better cookbook and if there's a better variety. I know the BHG is huge, but it really doesn't seem like there's a lot of desserts or cookies, and I LOVE cooking.Let me know what you think, and if you can recommend a specific book that would be great too!

Q: I am starting a garden this fall with berry bushes and leafy greens. I have been doing a bunch of reasearch because I have never had a garden before and some of my plants are prone to bugs and fungus. I want my garden to be as organic as possible so I don't want chemical spray. Anyone know any good homemade concoctions I can make to help? Thanks =D
Fungi are encouraged by too much water and inadequate air circulation. Allow plenty of breathing room between plants and row. Put mulch down around the plants. We use newspapers (5-6 sheets thick) and composted grass clippings. Will act as a weed barrier AND keep the moisture in the soil and will offer some protection for the plants/veggies. Feed the birds, encourage them to live in your yard with food, water and places to live. Nearly all baby birds are fed on bugs and many species eat bugs right along with the seeds. And some only eat bugs. The more birds, the better! They will do the dirty work for you! And the link below will help you deal with issues as they come up.
Q: We all speak of going to heaven as our eternal home... but whenever heaven is mentioned it has the distinct emphasis of God's authority.. His administration to carry out His will ON THE EARTH...HOw does the hearts of men .. those who believe into God and have recieved this seed of Life into them become this ONE HOME for God to habitateWhen you look at some characteristics of the CHurch...She is the Dwelling place of The FatherThe Body of ChristThe HOusehold of GodShe becomes the New Jerusalem HOw crucial is our heart being the right kind of earth to the Lord.. dealt with by the Lord from being Hard.. Full of Stones.. Thorns... ( Mark 4) for God to carry out His Desire to make a Home . an Mutual abode of God with Man
I really like your analogy of our heart like a home... (or garden even). Have you ever read, My heart, Christ's Home by Robert Boyd Munger? Without question one of the most remarkable Christian doctrines is that Jesus Christ Himself through the presence of the Holy Spirit will actually enter a heart, settle down and be at home there. Christ will make the human heart His abode. Robert Munger gives the examples of Christ coming into our hearts, room by room...The Library (study of the mind); The Dining Room (appetites and desires); The Living Room (intimate companionship); The Workroom (talents and skills); The Rec Room (activities and amusements); The Hall Closet (putrefying sins); Transferring the Title (surrendering the whole house!)

Writer Babysit Dog sit Cook for the homless and bring it to shelters (but that's more volenteer)
Q: I saw a wonderful thistle today in the park: tall (taller than me, at least 6'9 or maybe even more), strong, leafy, with huge mauve flowers and these dewy leaves. A common thistle. I am in love. So, I wondered: what is the best way to grow the same-like, big, tall, strong thistle on my garden patch? I have nothing against little thistles, but I'd like mine tall. Please, give me the tips, especially from your personal experience. And I would have preferred it to be organic, or, if it's not possible, nearly so. What should I do?
how okorder /...maybe Shaw. it is scottish for the guy who lives by the thicket. the scottish people adopted the thistle as their sign when it alarmed them to an attack by pricking the guys sneaking up on them and making them yell.

I used butter on my sugar glider wheel. It use to drive me nuts. The only down side is you have to do it every 3 days because those little buggers would lick it all off.
