- Q: Just moved into a new house and the basement is already wired for surround sound. The ends are two wires one silver one gold/brass wrapped together with plastic. Looks like they were cut at the ends. How difficult would it be to wore the speakers myself?
- The color coded wire will correspond to the connection of the positive and negative. You would connect the wire to the receiver, depending on the location of the speaker. Check the speaker that is already installed and see what color wire is going to what terminal on the speaker and match that connection to your receiver. Front speaker connected to the front speaker terminal of the receiver. Your receiver owners manual will also provide you with some direction. Hope this will help you out.
- Q: i have just got a radio from a 2004dodge durango my buddy bought a new radio and i tok his old one, so now i need the wiring diagram to find out what all the wires goo too their are way more wires on thios thing that im use to on stock radios. ive looked it up online and its not the right diagrams the colors dont match up on the wires. ny help pleaseeee
- If you havent already cut the wires then go to an audio store (best buy, local shop ect...) and buy a wiring harness. If you already cut the wires you NEED to test the wires with a test light and 9v battery and not rely on online diagrams because 90% of the time they are wrong. way to do it is find your positive, negative, and turn on wire with a test light. test every single wire with the test light to make sure there arent any live wires still left after you found your power wires. after you have done that to find the speakers take a 9 volt and hold one wire to the positive and touch every wire and listen for a speaker to make a scratching noise. when you hear the scratching noise then that means those two wires go to that speaker. if your totally lost then rewire the factory plug back on and then go get a wiring harness. theyre like 15-20 bucks and save you a whole lot of time and its a lot less mess to deal with.
- Q: Need wiring diagram or manual

- It okorder /... Good luck in your studies, ~ Mitch ~
- Q: for california electrical code, am i limited to insert no more than one wire per knockout on a box ?
- no. the number of wires in the box is restricted based on the volume of the box but the number of wires entering a knock out is restricted by the size of the conduit or the cable type connected to the knock out.
- Q: I have a 200 amp main breaker just below my meter, which is mounted on a pole. The neutral wire coming in is run to ground. From this box, I've run 2 cables (1/0) ~80 ft to another box with a 150 amp main breaker. This box is grounded to an 8ft ground rod. I am wondering whether this setup (no neutral wire from meter pole to building) would potentially allow a ground fault without tripping the 200 amp main. For example, if somebody dug into the line with a backhoe? Oh yeah, the cable is in a 3ft deep trench that will be covered. I have an abridged version of the NEC, but I haven't found this particular topic covered. Thanks.
- what you did should be alright
- Q: 1980 ford f150 300 engine i need the wiring specs for the back lights thank you for any answers
- what okorder and go to the repair manual section.. Autozone has older (10 years or older) vehicle repair manuals online.. check it there as most include the wiring diagrams
- Q: hey i have a 2005 toyota corolla soprt. i need help finding the remote wire, and some colors arent even on the diagram. please help i dont wanna have to buy another alternator and battery like i already have!thanks!
- Look for the gray wire in the harness. It would be much easier if you bought a wiring harness for $10 to $15. It avoids you having to cut up your vehicles existing wiring. 2005 Toyota Corolla Radio Wiring Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/White Radio Switched 12V+ Wire: Gray Radio Ground Wire: Brown Radio Illumination Wire: Green Power Antenna Wire: Black Front Speaker Size: n/a Front Speaker Location: n/a Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Pink Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Purple Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Light Green Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Blue Rear Speaker Size: n/a Rear Speaker Location: n/a Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Black Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Red Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): White
- Q: i have an amp (sony xm 2002gtr) that says it requires 4 gauge wire..but they cost $100+ and i have plenty of 8 gauge wires. can i use two 8 gauge wires as a substitute for one 4 gauge wire?and also, i have my capacitor grounded to unpainted metal of my car AND the ground port of my amp..is that incorrect?
- Two 8-gauge wires combined are equal to a 5-gauge wire, but that should be close enough for that amp. Make sure each wire has its own fuse near the battery; 40-amp fuses would be a good choice. If you capacitor is connected to ground, and your amp is grounded, then you don't really need a wire between the capacitor's ground terminal and the amp's ground terminal. It doesn't hurt anything, though. If the only ground wire at the amp is the one that runs to the capacitor, then you're better off connecting the amp ground directly to chassis metal.
- Q: I have a duplex box and want to put two recepticles in it. Each have two connector post on each side. How do I wire this.
- If it is just a normal receptacle, you should have two silver screws on one side, that is the neutral side. there will be two gold screws on the hot side. hook your white jumper wire to the silver screw and your black to the gold. re peat that on the other end with your other receptacle. of course turn the power off first.
