Q: I am changing an outside light with a inside wall switch there is 2 cables going to the outside box. ( 3 wires -white w/red line wire and black wire and green ground wire ) other cable 3 wires is white wire and black wire and green ground wire.On the inside switch is 3 wires white wire a black wire a green ground wire.for some reason it is not working, can any one tell me how to wire and or test for power. thank you: I changed my outside light and sounds like the wires were similar to yours. Make sure you have the power turned off. And, connect and twist the wires (same colored) together, and use the caps, and connect the green ground wire and turn on the power to test it again. Might want someone near the power switch and someone to watch the light to make sure sparks don't fly. And, make sure you have a bulb that works in there. Otherwise might want to contact someone knowledgeable (family member/electrician) with help.

Any Help would be great!: The positive wire should be red and the ground black. You should tap into a wire that is ignition hot. Meaning it only has power when the ignition is on so it won't run down the battery. The easiest one to use would be the accessory port on the fuse panel. The ground needs to go to any good metal part. Find a screw that is in a large metal part, like the dash support, and wire it under the screw.

Q: i need to connect a new bathroom light/fan combo to existing wiring. Existing wiring is black/white/red/copper. The new fixture wiring is black/blue/white/white. Thanks: the fan has a blue and black wire each is a switch leg one to the light and one to the fan..the switch has a feed usually darker color and two switch leg wires. the hot incoming wire feeding the switch goes on the feed wire and the two switch legs go on the other terminals. if this does not solve the problem you must have the fan wired wrong...

Q: I have two ceiling lights in my kitchen that come into the same wiring box (light switch). It's a single light switch that controls both lights. I want to install a two fixture light switch so that I can turn on each light by itself. It looks like there are only two wires coming into the box...a black one and a white one (and a ground wire). The two-switch I bought is requiring three wires though. Solder that to the ground wire that you should have wired to the bridge, and also to the sleeve connection on the output jack. The insulated wire carries the signal. Depending on the configuration you are running, whether it be a single pickup, two pickups, and global controls or dedicated controls, this can go in different places. Let's say, hypothetically, that you are using a single pickup. Then, the signal wire would go straight to the Volume pot. The tone pot would be an offshoot of the volume, which tapers the high end. There are multiple ways to wire a tone pot, should you install one, and the wiper of the volume pot goes to the tip connection of the output jack.
