Q: Red and blue light are combined in equal amounts. What color is produced? Cyan light shines on a blue filter. What color is the transmitted beam?
Green light on a blue surface. It depends on how pure the light and the color of the surface are. A pure green light that is derived from a spectrum can only reflect green from any colored surface. Similarly a pure blue surface where the pigment absorbs all colors except blue can only reflect blue no matter what color light is shone on it. So if you shine a pure spectral green light on a pure blue surface then all the light will be absorbed and no color will be reflected. A more practical case is where you get your green light by shining a white light through a green filter (or painting a light bulb green). This gives you a light containing a bit of all colors but whose blue, yellow and red are reduced. Similarly most blue surfaces reflect all colors to some degree but they reflect blue better than most. If you shine such a light onto such a surface then the light that comes off will be cyan. But it will only look cyan if the overall illumination is white light. If you are in a room lit by a green light bulb then your eye adapts. If you now look at a blue board then, although the light coming off it is cyan, it will look blue to you. If go combine red and blue light you always get magenta. Cyan shining through a blue filter. The same comments apply as for the green/blue case. If you generate cyan from a spectrum and shine it onto a pure blue filter then nothing gets through. However if you use a normal cyan light that contains a mixture of blue, cyan and green then the light coming through a normal filter will be blue. It will have some green and cyan (along with a tiny bit of red and yellow etc) but most of the light will be blue.
Q: if there is more light, does it mean the area is hotter?
Light is energy and light that is absorbed is converted to heat. So if you have more light, the area that is absorbing that light gets hotter.
Q: I need to have definitions (they can be very short) for the following drama lighting terms by tomorrow:GoboGeneral WashUpLight/ Down LightSide LightFront Light/ Back LightBarn DoorsFloor LightStrobeMoversGelsStraw WashProjectionSnap CueCrossfadesSpotlightFollow SpotBreak-Up Gobo
Gobo - small peice of metal on the front of a lantern to 'project' a pattern e.g. a Cloud General Wash - big floodlight controlled by LX operator Up light - Light going up a wall Down light - Light going down a wall Barn doors - The little flaps (often on TV) 4 - move them to create a square/rectangle light Floor light - Otherwise known as floor can - sits on the floor to light Strobe - Flashing light - very fast! Movers - they swivel around and can often 'project' the little moving lights often on TV sets Gels - coloured sheets infront of light for colour lights Straw wash - Never heard of it! Projection - image produced by digital projector Snap cue - very fast change on lighting cue. e.g. CUT! and all lights turn on quickly Crossfades - From one cue to the other crossing over/fading slowly. From left to right. Spotlight - one single spot of light on a person/object Follow spot - one single spot of light on a person/object moved by an operator and adjustable whilst working Break-up gobo - blotchy patterns that produce a texture of light Hope this helps!
Q: (Why does light + light equal darkness?)
A cat's eyesight is 6 times better than a human in lower lighting contitions. When opening (or dilating), a cat's pupils can dilate much faster than yours or mine. They can also dilate three times larger than yours or mine can. This lets in a lot of light, and is one of the reasons cats have their famous ability so see well in low light. They don't see well in total darkness, which is a popular myth, but it is true that their eyes' ability to dilate to such a large degree is part of the reason they have an exceptional ability to see in poorly lit conditions. The one thing everyone seems to notice about a cat's eyes are the pupils. A human pupil is always round, but a cat's pupil can be either round (when it's dilated) or it can shrink in from the sides in stages until it is elliptical. When elliptical, a cat's eyes look like a slit, stretching from top to bottom. This special adaptation allows a cat to squint its eyelids, covering only part of the pupil but not all of it, thus giving it at least some manual control over the amount of light let in. If the pupil was simply reduced to a small circle, closing the eyelids would cover the pupil all together.
Q: part of my lights in the stereo.cd player went out, but only one section and then a few months later the lights behind the one heater dial went out, but most work, what could that be? my dome light stays on most the time, i had to take it out, but someone said that the doors arent triggering it to work right? help! thank you!!!
light in radio most likely burned out.....too expensive to tear apart to fix. light on dash is bulb behind gauges that burned out most likely. and dome light staying on normally means the triggers in the door are stuck in the on position and not releasing allowing the light to turn off. talk to a mechanic about each issue or someone that understands mechanics and knows what they are doing.
Q: if not do the make strobe lights that r black lights
Yes, they can work together. However, I suggest you test the bulbs with the fluorescent paint. Generally, fluorescent black-light units put out more UV than the single incandescent bulbs. Don't forget the mirror ball, either. It wouldn't hurt to pick up an old projector and put some colored oil psychedelic stuff on the wall. And add some lava lamps for mood. Party on...
Q: That makes me also wonder, what's the light?
A black hole has such a strong gravitational pull that light can't escape. If you think of light as a particle (photon) then it sort of makes sense that strong forces can affect the particles. After all, electromagnetic waves (including nonvisible light) can be affected by electric and magnetic forces, so why not gravitational forces?
Q: Why are they called the quot;light reactionsquot; and the quot;dark reactionsquot;?
Because the light reactions require light and the dark reactions don't. The light reactions are the ones that use energy from light to split water and make ATP. The Dark reactions are also referred to as the calvin cycle. It uses the ATP produced in the light reactions to fix carbon dioxide into larger sugar molecules.
Q: I have been looking for some outdoor LED lights for designing my Football field,I consulted some data and found that the LED floodlighting is most appropriate, but i am confused by which LED lighting manufacturer I should choose, can anyone suggest me a LED lighting manufacturer specializing in affordable but quality LED lighting?
Manufacturers? okorder . There should be other manufacturers all over the world.
Q: rickshaws India lights
Some have, some don't. so you better carry a torch. Street lights are enough to see at night
