- You have to be careful about placement, but a 500 watt quartz light will produce the same heat as a 500 watt portable heater. Electricity produces 3.4 btu's per watt. Lights, heaters, tv toaster, cell phone charger, all produce 3.4 btu's per watt.

Is laser light? Does laser travel at the same speed as light? -- Indeed it is, and it travels at the same speed as all other light.
