Q: my question deals with variable light transmission (VLT): it depends upon the color of light and the color of glass.. if the color of light is absorbed by the glass, little percentage of light will pass through coz it was already absorbed by the glass and the color which are present in the glass are the only colors that are reflected by the glass and then the only percentage of light that will pass..for ex. red light passing black glass, theres no light that can pass because black is absence of all colors..therefore the red light was being absorbed by the black glass without any light reflected..we can just simply observe that only the heat or what we call light energy is the thing that can be transmitted lesser compared to the light passing through white glass..so, the answer of the question will depends upon the glass, the light and the kind of glass..diamond form of glass will store light inside and will not allow all light to pass through. so, the percentage of light transmission will lessen ;-)

Q: Appreciate if someone could give your own review about Antique Lighting.: Antique lighting fixtures are an excellent way of enhancing your home. Some very old fixtures, date back to the time of the Romans with their oil lamps. These lamps can still be found but they have little use as forms of lighting, although they can be used as beautiful antique ornaments. When we speak about antique lighting we usually mean lighting fixtures dating back just a few centuries and up until the beginning of the 20th century. Q: For a space ship, can light can be used as fuel?I mean to ask it will emit light and move forward with speed of light?: Designs of such are being thought, but it would be more like para-gliding, I mean light from other source pushing a huge light weighing parachute like structure. Well ofcourse this wont happen in near future. Right now small titanium disks can be thrown at small heights by lasers. But this certainly will not replace present mechanism for transport for a long time.

Q: How exaclty does a black light work: I assume you are asking about how a black light source generates ultraviolet light. The principal is the same as for all flourescent lights. Ionized gas inside the bulb is excited by the current passing through it and it emits photons. Phosphorescent material inside the surface of the flourescent bulb is excited by the high energy photons striking from the inside. The photons push the electrons in the phosphor into higher orbits temporarily. These electrons subsequently emit photons at specific frequencies as they fall back into the orbits from which they came. The phosphor material is selected for the frequencies it produces. Hence the different colors or warmth of flourescent bulbs and in the case of black lights primarily ultraviolet and violet colors are produced. If you were asking about how the black light makes things glow, it is exactly the same principal of phosphorescence, but the other way around. The high energy photons from the ultraviolet lamp strike phosphors that are added to laundry detergent hat never quite rinses from your clothes. Those phosphors then glow in the blue-white range. The effect of the detergents is intentional and makes the clothes look brighter in the sun (which has ultraviolet in its spectrum) or under other bright lights.

Q: does lighter menstrual cycles means longer periods.: For me personally, the lighter my cycle, the longer it lasts. Also the heavier, the shorter. Still it's not an exact science and it isn't that way 100% of the time. Also, if a cycle is lasting too long (i'd say over 7 or 8 days) you may have another issue, light or not. Hope this helps!

Q: I want to know if a UV light is the same as a Flood light, so i can use for my turtles to bask. I sent my dad out to buy a UV light and he bought a flood light and claims its similar.: A flood light is differnet to a UV light. A flood light dosen't produce the correct wavelinght of light and will be no good for your turtle or plants. A UV light will produce shortwave light as well as the longer wavelength require for good plant and animal health. A flood light will only produce longer wavelenghts. Thats why they look a little orange when compaired to the UV light which will look blue/violet in comparison. Your dad went cheap on you dude
