- i went to the home depot and they were SOOOOOOOOOO helpful and honest (since they pay an outside contractor to do the work, they dont try to bs you more). it will cost a lot to do stairs... the carpet comes in precut rolls of so many feet. what they SHOULD do is first come out to your house and chart the rooms... the contractor that did ours had a handheld device that he keyed the lengths into and it calculated the best way to lay the carpet out with the least excess... and seaming. if the flooring underneath is bad, they will not install over it. ours was plywood and just fine. ask about tear out and disposal fees for the old carpet. also ask about removal of furnature. the contractor we had charged like $100/item. $50 for a lamp. make sure to get a water retardant pad. do scotchguard!

- Since it has been absorbed by flour, then you'd better dry the carpet in the sun, or use the hair dryer to blow it, then along the direction of the wool carpet, brush the flour attached on the carpet, vacuum surface grinding, doing this for several tiimes. . . . .

- Sounds like a bad idea to me -- I presume you mean bathroom rugs. Memory foam is not very durable with heavy use and it would be wierd under a rug since it has such a slow rebound from pressure. The rug would be lumpy all of the time, leaving footprint marks wherever you walked. You also can't machine wash or machine dry foam rugs because they will break down from the heat and rough tumbling. It sounds like you like to keep them clean so that doesn not seem like it would be an acceptable option for you. Don't buy rugs with rubber coating on the back in the first place -- it always breaks down with time. If fading is a problem, stick to rugs made from synthetic fibers like acrylic polyester or olefin fibers instead of cotton or nylon. Those synthetics will retain their dye colors better. Buy good quality thick rugs with a woven fabric back or, better yet, that are reversible. I have had high quality reversible bath rugs in both polyester and in Egyptian cotton -- they have lasted beautifully for years with frequent washing and tumble drying.

- You're wasting your money having someone else clean them. You can do it pretty cheap following the following plan. Use a deep/steam cleaner, but only after you've dealt with stains. Otherwise the deep cleaner might help them to set in. I bought my deep cleaner for $100 at meijer. The only way I would have spent more money is if the cleaner had a real good moving brush, but I just use a carpet sweeper to brush stains. To save a bundle of money using the deep cleaner, don't buy expensive deep cleaner detergent. Just use the low-suds laundry detergent you already have at home! I do this every time and it works just fine. To clean up other stains, you might have to look up the source of the stain online. For animal stains, get enzymes that break down the odor-causing chemicals. For red wine, mix detergent and hydrogen peroxide and soak a little. This works really really well at breaking down the tannins in red wine. Peroxide works on some other stains too. Spot Shot is the best I've seen for general spots, it comes in a blue and orange bottle.

- Exercise rugs are mainly used on horses that have a poor coat or are clipped to give them a bit of extra warmth in the winter. They are primarily used to put on a horse when doing work such as hacking or activities that involves a lot of walking or some trotting. They arent really used so much when they horse is in harder work like cantering and jumping as the horse will be working harder and get hotter easier and there is the risk of the rug flapping which might scare the horse when working in faster paces. These rugs are often also used just to put over a horse to keep them warm when they are standing around waiting for a competition or the likes to start. xx

- Check a teacher store. They have theme rugs for classrooms and they are very durable. It may not be the exact rug but it my be very similar. There are some of these types of stores that you can order on line as well. Good Luck!
- Q: I spilled hot hair removal wax on my carpet in two places in my aparment. A. Is there any way to remove the wax from the carpet. B. If there is not a way to remove it, does the whole carpet in the room have to be replaced or just the small area? C. How much does this generally cost. I would rather just pay for it myself than have the landlord try to bill me for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
- Use some ice on the wax and try scraping off as much as possible then get several rolls of paper towels and an iron. Place layers of paper towels over the wax and place iron on lowest setting on top.Replace towels when wax comes through other side. Keep doing this until the wax is gone.
