- Tiles over tile is not a good idea. Just because the floor is level it isn't perfectly level. If the bottom of a tile is not perfectly level, you walking on it will eventually crack it. So the answer is no.

- Bleach shouldn't ruin the tile but then again I don't know what kind of tile you have. There are grout cleaners at Home Depot or Lowes that should do the trick for you. Sometimes getting a professional to come in and polish the floor is a good idea depending on how much work is involved.

- You can tile over ceramic tiles but not ideal as they can come off over time. If you get a good adhesive it will work but can be effected in time as water penetration can soften the tile adhesive, You can also use tile paint. It does work well if you do the correct prep work first. Make sure old tile are really clean. It is a fast way of doing a job and very inexpensive. I would not wallpaper in a bathroom....not a good idea in my opinion due to moisture. Not a good idea to tile over any tiled embossed wallpaper surface. Have used tile paint with good success. Its in the prep if you don't do it correctly paint will peel after a time. Instruction normally on tile paint can. Well within the range of normal DIY.

- For your best adhesion. its best to start out with a clean wood sub floor. Depending on what is down now, its best to put a new luan sub floor. These you can sometimes go over whats there now and sometimes its best to rip out and start new. Always start from the middle and work to the out side. But if your tile lays out to less than a 1/2 tile, move the tile over the center line by a 1/2 tile. Now MOST peel n stick are directional so they must be layed all in one direction.. This is personal preference, but I like to have a whole tile at the doorway and what ends up in back is the way it is unless its a real small pc. Dry lay out the tiles to see what you like.. - Peter is right, each tile manufacturer will box their tile in different size boxes (per s/f). And w/o know the s/f of the area to be tiled no one can tell you how many tiles you need. Most tile is sold by the box now any ay. So in most cases you ll need to buy whole boxes plus waste for cuts. - They are generically called Calavera tiles and are made in Mexico by hundreds of different companies. In fact, just check Ebay for calavera tile and you will see a lot of them in similar designs. They install like any fired clay tile -- some people use them as accents with solid saltillo type tile. I have a bunch of them that I bought to use for a project that I changed my mind about. They are still so pretty that I use them for coasters and may eventually encorporate them into a design for my stone fireplace hearth. Yours look fairly vintage -- nice find!
