Q: I am installing commercial tile and I have no idea what tool is used to cut this kind of tile, it easily breaks if its bent too hard. I need to cut curved areas on this tile and I have no idea what too to use. Please help! ;)
Forget the rental business, you'll pay for one day as much as you can buy one for your use. Go to Home Depot, they start at $88.00 for a cheapo that works just fine for a powered tile cutter. I have had one for several years now I paid $120.00 for it, two days rental, and it's done more then several bathrooms and floors, still going strong.
Q: the kitchen is pretty spacious, but is it possible to put tiles on top of wood?
I had the same cocern when I was remodeling my kitchen. I had a linoleum floor and wanted to change to tiles. I ripped out my old linoleum floor only because I wanted to keep the increase of the new flooring to a min. Everybody I taked to suggested to use backerboard over your sub floor if you want your new floor to last. Use 1/4 if you subfloor is relativley stable, 1/2 backerboard if not. But remember the difference in height of your new floor with the thickness of the backer board and tiles.
Q: I was quoted $5.75 for tile install and $2.25 for concrete board per square foot.
You would have to get quotes from several tile layers. Once you have their quotes, it would be up to you to select the tile layer that either offered you the most economical rate, the one you feel comfortable with. You might consider a handyman. In this scenario you would purchase the tile and your handyman would lay the tile. You handyman would be a lot cheaper than a contractor. Whom ever you decide to select, your best option is to get a referral from a friend, relative or co-worker. This person has performed some work for your friend,s relatives or co-workers and was pleased. I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck. FIGHT ON
Q: tiles on back splash, work done in south florida, 4x4 inch tiles
shouldnt be know more then 125 - 150
Q: If so, what do you clean it with? I have one in my kitchen I hate it! I‘m always cleaning it and we don‘t even wear shoes in the house but yet it always looks like it has blackheads! I have used the magic eraser to get the marks off but it‘s a p.i.t.a. :)
It’s a pain but a stiff scrub brush with hot water and a small amount of soap will get the dirt out. The problem is that you have to do it every week because the groves collect dirt. But don’t use too much soap because when you use the scrub brush you will end up with too many bubbles!
Q: We just bought an old house and the previous owners did a really poor paint job. I scratched off some paint on the tiles in the breakfast nook and the original tile looks really nice. I want to remove the rest of the paint without damaging the tiles.
Try using a Heat Gun. Cheap or rentable locally. They lift paint beautifully. Ask the guys that sell/rent what they think. It depends on what kind of paint. It's probubly enamel. There are solvents that will lift that stuff like you wouldn't believe. Wear gloves, eye protect, and reperator if you can't get good ventilation. Othewise you'll lift the inside of your nose too! Scraper or putty knife will peel it all away.
Q: My husband and I just purchased a condo. We want to retile the bathroom in a more modern looking tile or maybe a marble or some kind of fancy tile. We are going to do it ourselves. Where can we find good prices on the tile?

Q: I was watching HGTV and they had this tile that was flexible. It looked like alot of small square tile mounted to a flexible backing. Does anyone know the name of these? Thanks
It could me just a simple ceramic tile, and could also be a mosaic glass tile, or anything in between. Tile comes in MANY different sizes, materials, and shapes, but smaller tiles are almost always mounted to a backing like you have described and are *generally* one foot squares. Check the link and I'm betting you are talking about either the top left one or the one on the right side second from the bottom. The shapes can be very different, but the application is at least similar, though glass tiles generally use a different mastic. Al
Q: I want to buy six glass tiles for my science project but i don‘t know where to buy them. There are windows for sale but I don‘t want to use hundreds of dollars for a window.
not sure which glass tiles you are wanting? are you talking about glass tiles like for a kitchen backsplash or a glass window pane? if your just looking for a glass square, just go buy a cheap picture frame from a dollar store or walmart for $2 or so. take the glass out and voilaaaaaa! or if you are looking for something thicker, like a tile, try home depot or lowes and for less than $5 each you can snag some glass tiles you could also try calling a glass company (check your yellow pages) and tell them you are a student looking for glass for a class project. companies may be willing to donate to your project, especially with scraps that would be thrown out any way. good luck w/ your project
Q: Including the ground and the wall, need to pay attention to what aspects of the problem? Decoration has no experience, hope to say the details, thank you
Mainly disdain, and then knock with the key to see how much empty valley - the kind of sound is not real, and then look at the seam it. To be bad to see it
