- Hi Maruf, I would choose a Light Steel Grey color to compliment the Granite Green tile.Granite Green tile is beautiful, choosing a color that blends to much with the tile will not enhance the look of your tile. The Light grey color will pick up the green hues in your tile, yet allow your tile to have center stage of visual appeal ! If you are truly not interested in a Light grey then my second suggestion for you is Sage Green. Best of Luck!
- Q: tile. any advice?
- Is it a pure white? If so your best look will be a white grout. If you have any coloring or haze of color in the tile pick up and match that as best as possible. The use of any other colors in a pure white tile will show as a checker board look on the floor. Maybe not so bad in a real light tone, but any time you go a grey tone it will jump out at you. You asked about type of grout, most likely you ll need a sanded grout and have to use a 1/8 th 3/16 th or a 1/4 inch grout joint.I prefer 3/16th myself and thats what I use on most all my jobs. There are a few (few) porcelains made to go tight together and you ll need a unsanded grout. These you can tell by the tiny beveled edge they ll have .. - Q: hi we have old carpet on top of tiled floor in our dining room the carpet really needs replacing but I have no idea how to fix the grippers down onto the tilesany ideas how I can do this without pulling up the tiles?
- The tack strip or grippers as you cal them can be laid over the tile just as you do on a cement or slab flooring with one exception. The use or a cement tack strip and some have to be pre drilled and a longer nail or screw used to attach them to a wood sub floor if your tile is over wood subflooring and a backer board over the sub floor . - Q: If you were going to tile an entire room would you start from the walls or floor? The room is only small 12m walls 4m floor is a basic toilet basin. There are no border tiles no fllor to wall tiles.
- not a pro but i thought you were suppose to start in the middle of the room. chalk line the center of the room and lay tile from there but i quess it would all depend on measuring to see how much of a tile size you would be working once you got to the wall. probably make an adjustment from center line so that tile size on both walls would be same size. i would do a practice layout of a few tiles to see how things look before formal tiling./// i'll check back to see what the pros have to say.

- There is no way to not damage walls. Yes it is a big job, a very big job. The best way to remove ceramic wall tile is to rent a chipping hammer with a ceramic tile bit from your local equipment rental center.
- Q: THis will be done in the powder room. Also, I am planning not to use backerboard because the tiles will be 9 x 12
- I recently tiled a room of approximately the same size. Not including the cost of the tile, it cost about $150.00. I used quick set, which costs about $40 per tub. One tub, if used properly, should be enough. If the floor on which you are installing the tile is not concrete, you should stronly consider using the backing board. This will help reduce the chances of the grout, and tile from cracking. If installed on a wooden (plywood) floor, the floor can flex, resulting in cracking of the tile and grout.

- If they happen to be the smaller 1x2 or 2x2 sized tiles, those you can donate to schools and preschools. These are good for counting. Anything bigger and they' re hard to handle for little kids. Larger tiles can be donated to older art classes for the kids to use. If they are colorful tiles you can break them (carefully) up to use as a mosaic pattern for decorating planters, small counter tops etc. I ve even seen wall art done with broken tiles and framed. - countertops are going more tile or granite anymore. depends on your taste and style your looking to achieve. if you are wanting a more expensive look, go for porcelein. very nice tile. if you have animals, dogs, i would not go with a white grout or a white floor. tile is less expensive in price but porcelein in rich looking.
