Excavators are used in many ways:
Digging of trenches, holes, foundations
Material handling
Brush cutting with hydraulic attachments
Forestry work
Forestry mulching
Demolition
General grading/landscaping
Mining, especially, but not only open-pit mining
River dredging
Driving piles, in conjunction with a pile driver
Drilling shafts for footings and rock blasting, by use of an auger or

Hydraulic drill attachment

Hydraulic excavator capabilities have expanded far beyond excavation tasks with buckets. With the advent of hydraulic-powered attachments such as a breaker, a grapple or an auger, the excavator is frequently used in many applications other than excavation. Many excavators feature a quick coupler for simplified attachment mounting, increasing the machine's utilization on the jobsite. Excavators are usually employed together with loaders and bulldozers. Most wheeled, compact and some medium-sized (11 to 18-tonne) excavators have a backfill (or dozer) blade. This is a horizontal bulldozer-like blade attached to the undercarriage and is used for levelling and pushing removed material back into a hole.

Q: I cut down a ratty old tree, and dug the stump up with an excavator, my question is... Since I removed the old root ball, can I plant a new tree in the same hole.?? It a great spot to shade my house! Some have told me put it in a different place, but I really want it in the original spot. Will a new tree make it there??
As long as you didn't use any type of chemical stump remover, planting a new tree there will be fine.
Q: I was wondering if there is a huge difference in damage and speed. I need an idea on which direction I want to go. Dual or Rifle.
No, there is no huge difference. Use Dual. Greetings The Freak
Q: My Son is obsessed with John Deere Kids, I Can't Find a List of all the charactersI know of:*Johnny Tractor*Corey Combine*Allie Gator*Danny Dozer*Barney Backhoe*Luke Loader*Wally Wagon*Grady Grader*Eddie ExcavatorAre there any more??
Bubba, Ethiel, Cleddious, and Buddy.
Q: What kind of excavator is DEERE?
American John Deal excavator, JohnDeere,John Deere since 2012, independent research and development in Tianjin TEDA excavator factory.
Q: Is it true that as a miner you can get a lawyer for free in North Carolina?
No, that only works if your occupation is excavator or tunneler.
Q: I'm looking on behalf of my company - who needs to get tracks and undercarriage parts for some Bobcat machinery.
I have had good luck with a company called Gabberdeen. They have everything. I have a 331 and I got my whole undercarriage and tracks for them from CHEAP. Find them on the internet.
Q: Inspection and maintenanceof excavator?
machinery should always be inspected daily prior to commencement of work.simple walk around looking for obvious defects like leaks of hydraulic fluid from rams, oil patches underneath main body of machine.simple little things really, also get a grease gun and grease the nipples at least every 20 hrs of machine working.always check your reservoir's i.e water, fuel and hydraulic
Q: I need to build a bridge to open up a pasture. It was be traveled by horses and people. I am thinking of three ways to go about it. 4 concrete footers (2 on each side of the stream), 2 6x6s and several 2x6 for the slats. Or, the same thing but instead of the 6x6s, use steel i bars. And finally, find a culvert and have it put in as the final thought. To give you more information on the setting, the span is about 10 feet long and I would only need it to be about 6 foot wide for this purpose. The water does get pretty high during heavy rain, but never exceeds the banks, even during major floods. Most of the time it is a trickle. Banks are around 4 foot high. I have no idea where I can get i beams or culverts big enough for this gap. Also, not sure what the best method is. Would like to avoid culvert because I would have to contact the township and hire an excavator. A bridge I can most likely do myself.Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated!!
I think your first idea is the best one, but I would say to use 6 concrete supports ( three on each side adding a middle support) because you don't want to have a 6' span of 2X6 material. Take a 1000 pound horse or more than one and you may have a board break as it ages, not to mention that the 2X6's will warp down with moisture and time. So build the supports with 12 concrete tubes, for the frame from side to side I would use a double 2X10 instead of a single 6X6 for the 3 beams you would build, and then either 2X6 or 2X8 on the flat for the deck of your bridge. Considering the water exposure you should use stainless steel screws to join the deck boards down to the frame and TimberLok screws for the framing.
Q: i'm not dealing with engineering line. This might soubds like a stupid question to ask. But i just need to know. Hope you can help me to sort it out. Thanks alot.
Mechanical engineering. The civil engineers would be the ones dealing directly with the location of the ground (job site). Civil engineers are mostly concerned with the building structures or ground with project management as a focus. A mechanical engineer would be focused on the machine aspect.
Q: I have a glass cage that's 36quot; long, 29quot; tall and 15quot; deep and I was wondering if I could put a couple leopards in here or would it be too tall? I have a big branch that goes from the bottom to the top and I was gonna put excavator clay in for him to climb also.
For two FEMALE adult leopard geckos, that's a good cage. Make sure you watch for bullying and make sure they're both getting enough to eat. Provide them with several different hides, as well, not just the 3 necessary hides (hot, cool, humid). I wouldn't recommend having the big branch in there, as they could fall and injure themselves. They do climb, but not very well. The excavator clay can also be a pain in the butt to work with. Not only is it messy, but it can collapse if it gets too dry and small amounts can still get ingested. Since it's clay, it can easily impact a leopard gecko even in small amounts. Stick to something solid such as tile, linoleum, vinyl, paper towels, newspaper, or butcher paper.
