Q: Insulation question - I live in an old (106 years) 3 storey house and I am about to replace the wooden flooring on the top floor - I have roof above this floor. The house is quite cold, more so than normal. Is it advisable to put mineral wool insulation between the floors? Are there any fire safety issues? If you use rock wool, you should be fine. It will help keep the house warmer, keep the noise between the floors down and, as an added bonus, rock wool usually helps the fire rating.

Just spray and mop; also great for deodorizing a room and for a fast cleanup. I also use this on my tile floors with great results. Pergo is better off when water doesn't sit on it too long, the alcohol is added to make it dry faster. And it won't leave your floor sticky either.

School gym floors are probably maple or another hardwood, with varnish on them. More maintenance than concrete, but wood is softer and better for the kind of activities that take place in a gym. Tile, concrete, stone, and similar materials are the most durable though some woods come close.
