Q: I did some research and found that HEPA filters are ideal. I'm just not a vacuum expert, and I don't know which vacuum to use it on. or how.
A house vac, called a central vac is a great idea but they are expensive to have installed. If it is really that important to you, you should look into it. They are also kind of a pain. I own a cleaning business and I would say 75% of my customers have allergies of some sort. I have three Oreck vacuums now. They are great! I use them in multiple houses and allergies are not being bothered at all. These vacs are light, have amazing suction and they have fabric bags that pull allergens and dust mites out of the air as well as off the floors. They switch from carpet to harwood with no foot work. I bought my first one new from Oreck (expensive), then I realized I could get them in near new condition off craigslist so that is what I do now. I bring them to my local Oreck store, have them cleaned and tuned up and they are good to go. I have tried Kenmore, Eureka, Dyson, I had issues with all if them. The nice thing about the Oreck is when you pull the bag out of the vac, it closes while you pull so there are no dust clouds choking you like bag-less. Hope this helps!
Q: Have any of you had a newer Kirby vacuum cleaner (the one the representatives say cleans all the way to the bare floor) and could you compare it's performance to other quot;storebrands? I'm not really interested in value (I know they are terribly expensive) but want to know if they really do clean as advertised. I moved into a new house with some dirty carpets and a friend of mine offered to let me borrow her Kirby vacuum cleaner with built in carpet shampooer and I want to know how well it will clean. Is the shampooer equal to one I could rent at Wal-Mart or another store? Thanks for the help!
I have a Kirby that is 18 months old and a Dyson that is about 2 years old. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats that shed like crazy. I use the Dyson first (which doesn't clog) which does a great job picking up the hair and then deep clean with the Kirby. I have bad allergies, and using the vacuums this way, I save a fortune on bags for the Kirby and get up far more dust mite droppings than I would otherwise. I thought the Kirby did a pretty good job with its dry foam carpet cleaner, but I also use steam and chemicals for some areas.
Q: Nojo king sells vacuum cleaners. Each week he earns $200 plus 8% of his sales. How much did he earn last week if his sales totaled $3200?
If $3200 is his sales for the week, the 8% works on that part of the problem. 8% OF 3200 = 0.08 X 3200 = 256 So, eight percent of sales earnings = $256 Regular weekly earnings = $200 Total earnings = $200 + $256 = $456 --------------------------------------... Nojo King doesn't earn $200 a month plus 8% of sales does he? That would be more complicated.
Q: My mom is looking for a new vacuum cleaner and can't decide between an upright or canister. She has a lot of carpeted areas and bare floor as well. What would you recommend? Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners that aren't too expensive and especially, aren't too heavy or difficult to maneuver?
It relies upon on how lots you're keen to spend. I actually have a Rainbow and it incredibly is the terrific vacuum cleanser i've got ever owned. that's bagless, the airborne dirt and mud from the flooring is going right into a container you place water in and have faith me, it pulls issues out of my carpet that i did no longer understand have been there. An further bonus is you may upload air freshners to the water and it makes your place scent so solid after vacuuming. that's of the cannister variety comes with popular attachments. I, such as you have pets interior the living house to me, it incredibly is the only thank you to flow. Rainbow's are costly although yet you're able to good fortune up and %. up a used one. solid good fortune on your quest!
Q: must be taken in order to be 90% confident that the margin of error will not exceed 50 hours? Please show work
The 90% confidence z-value from the normal probability table is 1.645 Sample size n = [ (1.645) SD /error] ^2 n = {(1.645)(400)/50]^2 n =173.18 ≈ 174
Q: Are there any products that work well, e.g. cleaners, mops, wet/dry vacuum-mops?
I've used swiffer and orange glow cleaners.. Orange glow can soemtimes have a bit too much oil and leave a little residue. Swiffer works well as a cleaner but can leave streaks if you pump too much fluid.. The most important thing about laminate is not to use too much water or liquid on the floor. Keep cleanser and water at a minimum, otherwise the flooring could warp. Also depends on the quality of laminate you have. Best advice is to see if the Brand you purchased makes a specific cleaner.. I know Bruce brand does.
Q: I have an oreck vacuum cleaner..is there a place that takes old vacuum cleaners?
You could call the stores that sell used and reconditioned vacuums.
Q: Any information you can provide about these models would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Have a wonderful day.

Q: Our Dyson Slim just broke down after two years of great clean-up... upon taking it in to a DYSON SPECIALIST... he informed us we needed to change the filters yearly as well as have a yearly maintenance check... I have never heard of this before, so I wanted to check into it to see if he was being truthful!
We have a Dyson and this is the first I have heard of it. I read the manual when we got it too. Is this guy trying to drum up business? Most vacuum cleaners you can do your own maintenance by keeping them clean.
Q: my dog is 1 year old and she is afraid of the vacuum. why is this and how do I stop it? I feel so bad for her when she is whining and barking...
Vacuum cleaners make horrific noises, some of which we cannot hear - but it is actually painful and mystifying at the same time to your dog. The best thing you can do is to put your dog somewhere away from the noise- perhaps crated, or even in the car if it is well mannered and the weather makes it safe to do so. Just anything to shield your dog's ears from the screaming machine. I have had to explain rips in the bag to the vac repairman myself...
