- Q:What is the difference between a 2200W and 2000W vacuum cleaner?
- The difference may be more -or less- than one consuming 10% more wattage. The trouble is that both may have about the same performance regardless of the differences in their motors and fans. Some ways to determine their differences are: Measure the strength of suction (for vacuum cleaners, this is commonly measured in inches of water column, but can be measured in inches of mercury). Measure the cubic volume of air flowing into the machine per minute. Measure the cubic volume of sand or other particles each machine can pick up in a specific period of time.
- Q:When were wet/dry vacuums invented?
- Daniel Hess of West Union, Iowa invented a vacuum cleaner in 1860, calling it a carpet sweeper instead of a vacuum cleaner. His machine did, in fact, have a rotating brush like a traditional carpet sweeper, and also possessed an elaborate bellows mechanism on top of the body to generate suction of dust and dirt. Hess received a patent (US No. 29.077) for his invention of the vacuum cleaner on July 10, 1860 British engineer, Hubert Cecil Booth patented a motorized vacuum cleaner on August 30, 1901. Booth's machine took the form of a large, horse-drawn, petrol-driven unit, which was parked outside the building to be cleaned with long hoses being fed through the windows. Booth first demonstrated his vacuuming device in a restaurant that same year and successfully sucked dirt. More Americans inventors introduced variations of the same cleaning-by-suction type contraptions. For example, Corinne Dufour invented a device that sucked dust into a wet sponge; and, David Kenney designed a huge machine that was installed in a cellar and connected to a network of pipes leading to each room of a house. Of course, these early versions of vacuum cleaners were bulky, noisy, smelly, and unsuccessful.
- Q:Should we men just replace women with vacuum cleaners?
- Yes. We will be happy to vacate (rather quickly) and leave you the vacuum cleaner.
- Q:I'm trying to buy a dyson vacuum cleaner but I don't know if it's going to be operational at a different level of voltage.

- Q:Money is very tight right now and my old, old, old vacuum cleaner truly bit the dust permanently. When I went to wal-mart to look at new vacuum cleaners I became rather confused and bewildered over the selection. I have been left behind with the 1970's style vacuums. Yes, I know - it's rather pathetic. Can anybody out there make a suggestion? I do not want to spend over $150-160. I have short pile wall to wall carpeting and linoleum.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
- about 6 months ago i bought a BISSELL vac for $79 at target. read many good reviews about it and the sucking power. it was all true! it is absolutely a great vacuum and cheap too. it will pick up stuff you never thought was there.
- Q:Any advice, anyone?
- Well I dont know if it is inexpensive but it is very important the vacuum has a power head to separate the carpet fibres to lift the pet hair, I have a SEBO and with several cats it does the job perfectly. I found cheap vacs with no power head are useless.
- Q:it annoys me so much, i wish they would make a quiet one
- agreed need a quiet one
- Q:Does anyone know how to reverse the air from a vacuum cleaner? In other words, instead of it sucking the air in, how do you get it to blow out?
- Unless it's got that function you'd have to interfere with the mechanism, probably voiding any warranty you have.
- Q:Does anyone have any experience with Infinity vacuum cleaners?
- get the consumers report for the month of October. they have the ratings for vaxs
- Q:What does Consumer Reports say are the best bagless vacuum cleaners (under $200)?
- i'm uncertain a thank you to respond to this question, yet i desire the two pts, so i'll chime in and say, your question made me smile, I believe Bonsai Bobby. Very humorous question, no longer very Biblical, yet what do i be attentive to. i be attentive to this, i'm a Kirby fan, and constantly have been and that they do no longer look to be stated interior the bible the two. Grace and Peace be unto you, in touch with now B
