Q: I have a 2000 Monte Carlo SS that is stock, as in no aftermarket radio/electrical equipment and the fuse for the a/c and cruise. I noticed it popped when I bought the car and each time i put the same size fuse in or a bigger one, it automatically pops. I pulled the dash apart and all of the connections are good so I'm not sure of where to go.
get the electrical schematic, find the cable's color code pertaining to AC and CC, now star back tracing them from AC- compressor clutch back to fuse box or relay and CC unit and back to same place as AC, to the fuse box or relay, pay extra attention to a cable that is long enough to rub against metal(hanging against), whether its valve cover, chassis, any bracket, engine exhaustor that it got pinched between 2 pieces of plastic and chassis, any bracket and body basically you are looking for a sign of tear and wear on the cables insulation that allows the inner bare wire to touch metal(chassis). look over the net for a Monte Carlo forum you will find a better answer there and to many many other future questions. gl
Q: Electrical system in a residential building. When we use any equipment on one phase the lights on that phase dim down but and the same time the lights on the second phase become brighter.
the neutral of the building is disconnected from the utility mains neutral, that's why you are getting different voltages for different loads call a good electrician to reconnect the neutral And this problem can only happen when the building is connected with a 3 phase electric supply
Q: I was wondering this, as I'm a smoker and never smoke in the house (due to owning expensive computers and such).Would the vapor from an E-cig be safe around electrical equipment? I would presume no, since the water vapor instantly evaporates after being breathed out, as apposed to smoke which lingers around and is rougher than air, which overtime damages fans and circuitry it passes over. Thanks for reading.-Karu

Q: I don't understand how oil and gas industry has anything to do with electrical engineering jobs??Am I not seeing this because currently I am working as a electronics engineer ? This is how I am thinking about this - Oil and gas industry , digs up oil , provides it to our cars and trucks so they can run. Now I don't understand how or where Electrical engineers come into play into this ?? Please make me understand. I want to know.P.s: I am an entry level electronics engineer, with a degree in Electrical engineering , Currently I am located in Houston, texas.
A great deal of electric power is used in extracting oil and gas from the ground, transporting it through pipelines, separating and refining the crude products and distributing the products. Electrical engineers design the required electrical equipment and the associated electric power distribution and control systems. In some situations, electric power must be generated on site rather than purchased from electric utility companies. In addition, electrical engineers are involved in the process instrumentation and control system design. The process control includes both computer systems and specialized electronic equipment.
Q: How come water shorts things out when water doesn't even conduct electricity it is the minerals in the water. If you dropped pure water in electrical equipment what would happen
Water is actually a pretty good insulator. The water molecules themselves don't conduct electricity very well at all. Water is conductive when there are substances dissolved in the water which dissociate into ions. It's the ions which actually do the conducting. If you placed pure water on electrical equipment, you would get wet electronic equipment, with little chance for shorting out. It would actually depend on the voltages in the electron equipment. But keep in mind that pure what does contain some ions. First there is the autoionization of water to make H+ and OH-. Secondly pure water has a pH of around 5.5 to 6 due to the absorption of CO2 from the air. This will result in H+ and HCO3- ions. So pure water is not ion-free and will conduct electricity if the voltage is high enough.

Q: Do you find batteries die faster than they should, light bulbs flicker or go out too quickly, electrical equipment does werid stuff or dies sooner than it should. (If you don't believe in vampires, this question is not directed at you.)I suspect it's more of a psi-vamp than sang problem, but I'm currious. I've had some weird experiences with the computer and one small printer ar work. Also, I had a period where remote controled TV's would go on by themselves. I don't have that problem now, though.
I do know that i have lots of problems with electronics ranging from computers to cell phones, and and watches to mp3 players. I'm not sure how common that is for vampires or what it has to do with being one though.
Q: give formulas and explanation both
In general, mechanical efficiency is the ratio of the work input to the work output. There is always some frictional looses that require extra work input to overcome. Electrical efficiency is the ratio of power input to power output. There are always copper losses in any electrical equipment. These are basic differences and definitions. The basic formulas are efficiency output / input, using either work or watts. TexMav
Q: I have a mini (just like 5x6 inch) Lasko personal space heater. It is not originally intended for heating for tanks and cages, but since it is ceramic I was 't sure if it would be okay. It has safety features such as overheat protection and cool touch housing. Would it be good to use in the tank for the snake? He's a baby cornsnake, and the tank is a 29 gallon glass tank (like an aquarium). I already have a heating pad and two heat lamps, but it still won't get warm enough. And I don't want to use central heating to heat the whole house just for his small space. Not to mention, it just stopped working. I know I can get a conventional ceramic heat emitter, but since this is what I have, I'm hoping it will work.
I agree with Ferris. I am generally against putting most electrical equipment INSIDE a reptile enclosure, unless it was specifically designed for that, (in other words, designed to deal with water humidity, to be shat upon, etc) You could certainly aim it into the tank, provided you have a good thermometer to gauge the temps, (you don't want to overheat it either.) The first thing I would do If I were you is to reevaluate the type and wattage's of bulbs you are using. Maybe a higher wattage bulb can solve your problem.
